ADAC GT Masters live on SPORT1 in 2016 and 2017

  • All ADAC GT Masters races will again be broadcast live and in full on free-to-air TV
  • SPORT1 secure live-TV rights to ADAC GT Masters until 2017
  • Extensive multi-media reporting from the ADAC GT Masters on SPORT1 platforms

Munich. Over the next two years, SPORT1 will again feature live broadcasts of the ADAC GT Masters. Germany’s number one sports channel has secured the live TV rights to the Super Sports Car League up to and including 2017. SPORT1 will continue to show the ADAC GT Masters live on free-to-air TV, on the pay-tv SPORT1+ TV channel and also via live streaming across online and mobile phone platforms on SPORT1.de and adac.de/motorsport. A magazine programme about the ADAC GT Masters and its partner series complete the extensive television coverage provided by SPORT1. In addition, a variety of online and mobile phone reports are available on SPORT1.de and in the SPORT1 apps.

ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk: “We are very pleased that following the successful launch earlier this year, SPORT1 have secured the live TV rights to the ADAC GT Masters for the next two years ahead of schedule. Consequently, and at a very early stage, we are able to give our competitors a high degree of planning security for the next two years.”

SPORT1 Editor-in-Chief Dirc Seemann: “I’m very familiar with the ADAC GT Masters from my time as a commentator and so am really pleased that the Super Sports Car League will continue to enhance our top-class motor racing coverage over the next two years. This early extension of the partnership with the ADAC is also, of course, confirmation of the success of our extensive multi-media reporting in the current season.”

Lars Soutschka, ADAC Director Motorsport and Classic: “The ADAC GT Masters and its support racing series were seen more often on TV this year than ever before. Their high level of commitment shows that we made the right choice in selecting SPORT1 as partners. SPORT1 share our passion for motor racing. We look forward to developing the ADAC GT Masters jointly with them over the next two years.”

SPORT1 have been live-TV exclusive partners of the ADAC GT Masters since the start of the 2015 season. All ADAC GT Masters races have been broadcast live and in full length throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 2010.
