13.04.2015 - ADAC Rallye Deutschland

2015 ADAC Rallye Deutschland has more to offer than ever before

  • Mega action on a total of 21 Special Stages
  • Five Special Stages at the legendary Panzerplatte
  • Comeback of the Mittelmosel and Bosenberg Special Stages
  • Optimised layout of the Service Park Trier

More mileage, more Special Stages, more action: The ADAC Rallye Deutschland is expanding again this year. With a total of some 374 kilometres to cover, the German event of the FIA World Rally Championship is approx. 48 kilometres longer this year than in 2014. The number of Special Stages has also increased: A total of 21 Special Stages – three more than in 2014 – will be on the officially approved itinerary for World Champion Sébastien Ogier, 2014 winner Thierry Neuville, Jari-Matti Latvala, and the other WRC drivers. Five of these will take place on the notorious Panzerplatte alone. Rally fans all over the world know what this means: The 2015 ADAC Rallye Deutschland will be the most attractive yet!

Thursday, 20 August 2015
Before the action starts in the Mosel Region around Trier as well as in the Eifel Region, the Saarland and on the Baumholder military range, the Shakedown at Konz is the first item on the agenda on Thursday (20 August). During this warm-up, fans will have all day to watch the rally vehicles in various points. That same evening’s autograph signing session with the WRC stars on Trier’s main market place is a must for the fans. So is the subsequent Show Start in front of the impressively illuminated Porta Nigra gate, ushering in a three-day spectacular that showcases the elite of rally-racing.

Friday, 21 August 2015
Friday (21 August) starts off with the 14.84km Sauertal Special Stage near the border with Luxembourg. Next, the rally stars will chase up and down the slopes of the Eifel Region on the 16.40km Waxweiler Special Stage near the Belgian border. Then, the Moselland Special Stage will see the competitors race 23.24km against the clock , including narrow vineyard service roads with extremely tight hairpin turns. After a one-year hiatus, the popular Mittelmosel Special Stage will return to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland in a more compact version. 13.67km long and set amid the vineyards, it is a highlight with numerous spectacular viewpoints. All four Special Stages will again be on the schedule for Friday afternoon.

Saturday, 22 August 2015
Saturday (22 August) will be another action-packed day: It will start off with the 18.35km Grafschaft Special Stage including its unique panoramic road overlooking the river Mosel. The Bosenberg Special Stage represents yet another comeback: The challenging test in the Saarland Region was on the ADAC Rallye Deutschland itinerary for the last time in 2011. This year, it will take the competitors along the prominent landmark near the town of St. Wendel over 17.13km.

The highlight of the day will be the Baumholder military range spectacular, which ADAC has enhanced yet again: A total of five spectacular Special Stages will take place in the Arena Panzerplatte this year. Successfully introduced last year, the Sprint format will be a double act this year: The teams will complete the 2.87km circuit – most of it in full view of the fans – twice in a row in the morning. So, once across the Finish line, it’s back to square one! Of course, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland would not be complete without its crown jewel: This year, the Panzerplatte Long Special Stage will cover a total of 45.61km. In the afternoon, the same Special Stages will be on the agenda again, but in a slightly different sequence: After the Grafschaft Special Stage, the rally will return to the Baumholder military range, where yet another Sprint and long stint will excite the fans. The second Bosenberg Special Stage will wrap up the day’s rallying.

Sunday, 23 August 2015
The final day (23 August) of the 2015 ADAC Rallye Deutschland also holds something new in store: For the first time, the second leg of the Dhrontal Stage, shortened to 14.08km, will be run as a Power Stage. Which means: The drivers who cross the finish line at Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine-grower’s village in Germany, can add valuable extra points to their WRC standings. But first, they will have to complete the 19.59km Stein & Wein Special Stage east of Trier, before negotiating the countless hairpin turns in the vineyards of the Dhrontal Special Stage. Once again, the historic Roman Porta Nigra gate in Trier will provide the backdrop for the podium ceremony of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Here, the numerous fans can celebrate the best drivers and teams of the 2015 ADAC Rallye Deutschland to their heart’s content.

Optimised layout of the Service Park Trier
With the event schedule officially approved, plans for the Service Park are beginning to take shape as well. The Trier fairgrounds will once more be the hub of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. ADAC will optimise the layout of the various areas and walks this year for even more spectator friendliness. For instance, the regrouping of the vehicles will take place in a different spot. The Service Park is worth a visit every day of the event: Here, the fans are close to the action at all times and have the opportunity to obtain autographs and watch the teams at work. At the Service Park you will also find the fan shops, the info point, food and refreshments, sanitary facilities, as well as a medical station and other services.
