From 20 to 23 August 2015, World Champion Sébastien Ogier, 2014 winner Thierry Neuville and the other WRC stars will showcase their spectacular skills on 21 tough Special Stages (SS) in the greater Trier area. The German FIA WRC round is a motor sport event that offers its spectators supreme rally action and top-tier supporting events. Below is a summary of all the highlights that rally enthusiasts can look forward to at this year's ADAC Rallye Deutschland, plus some useful information for the fans.

Thursday, 20 August 2015

Konz Shakedown (4.60km, from 09:30 hours): The "rally before the rally" is a perfect way to get in the mood for the next three days. Tip for fans: Kommlingen Arena. This spectator area is staged along both slopes of a small valley very easy to oversee.

Show Start at the Porta Nigra in Trier (from 20:00 hours): The official rally start with the WRC stars in front of the Porta Nigra gate is an emotional experience. Tip for fans: Hauptmarkt. An autograph signing will start here at 19:30 hours, and there will be a spectacular BMX show featuring the Red Bull BMX pro Jorge "Viki" Gómez.

Friday, 21 August 2015

SS 1 & 5 Sauertal (14.84km, 08:30 hours & 14:40 hours): The rally starts on fast asphalt roads west of Trier. The section of the SS close to the border with Luxembourg will be run in the opposite direction to last year. Tip for fans: Trierweiler. The split spectator area affords the ideal view of an extremely fast section.

SS 2 & 6 Waxweiler (16.40km, 09:43 hours & 16:00 hours): Through the undulating Eifel landscape, this section runs near the Belgian border - very close to Sankt Vith where 2014 winner Thierry Neuville hails from. Tip for fans: Plütscheid. This large spectator area is set on a slope affording a superb view of a section that includes a chicane and a tough downhill segment.

SS 3 & 7 Moselland (23.24km, 11:05 hours & 17:15 hours): This section runs through the narrow vineyard service roads. An intense rally experience is guaranteed in numerous places as the cars zoom past. Tip for fans: Panoramastraße (panoramic road). The spectator area is located high above the Mosel river and allows the spectators to watch the rally cars for over 6km.

SS 4 & 8 Mittelmosel (13.67km, 11:50 hours & 18:00 hours): After a one-year hiatus, the popular Special Stage returns to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Set amid the vineyards, it is a highlight with numerous viewpoints. Tip for fans: Weierbach Kehre. Here, you can enjoy the rally spectacular in an amphitheatre-like setting.

Saturday, 22 August 2015

SS 9 & 14 Grafschaft (18.35km, 07:34 hours & 15:31 hours): Where the Mosel river meets the Hunsrück mountain range, the world's top rally aces chase around the numerous hairpin bends. Tip for fans: Arena Veldenz. This spectator area close to the finish line is an impressive natural "grand stand".

SS 10 & 17 Bosenberg (17.31km, 09:02 hours & 18:47 hours): The challenging test in the Saarland region is back on the ADAC Rallye Deutschland itinerary. It takes the competitors along the prominent landmark hill near the town of St. Wendel. Tip for fans: Marth. This wide spectator area affords views of particularly exciting 90° combinations.

SS 11, 12 & 15 Arena Panzerplatte (2.87km, 10:32 hours, 10:45 hours & 16:44 hours): Successfully introduced in 2014, the Sprint test will be run three times this year - this section with good visibility almost throughout will be run twice in immediate succession. Tip for fans: Panzerplatte Turm (tower). Located at the highest point of the area, it is the perfect place to watch the battle of the top rally drivers against the clock. Plus, there is a big video screen displaying live video footage and additional info.

Extra tip #1 for fans: Revolverheld concert & rally party - the highlights among the supporting events

The supporting events at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2015 are just as high-class as the rally action itself. The highlight will be the performance of one of Germany's best bands: Revolverheld. The four full-blooded musicians from Hamburg will perform an exclusive live concert between the Special Stages on Saturday (22 August 2015). The approx. one-hour gig on the central Volkswagen stage will begin at 14:00 hours. The Revolverheld concert is free for all spectators of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2015 with a valid event ticket. Moreover, a full-fledged Panzerplatte TV studio will be set up on the Baumholder military range - with celebrity guests, live cameras and a live feed onto a giant video screen.

SS 13 & 16 Panzerplatte Long (45.61km, 11:05 hours & 17:26 hours): About three kilometres longer than last year, the long Special Stage of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will once again be the ultimate challenge. An extreme test of the drivers' skills and concentration. Tip for fans: EVERYTHING. Each spectator area on the Baumholder military range has its own attractions - from the "Hinkelsteins" to the legendary Gina jump.

Extra tip #2 for fans: Rally party at the Service Park

After completion of all Special Stages on Saturday, the ADAC Rallye Deutschland visitors are in for the next highlight supporting event: the big Saturday night rally party. It starts at 20:00 hours in the Trier Service Park. From 22:00 hours, SKODA shuttles will take the visitors to the next party location, the Metropolis dance club in Trier. For free use of the shuttle service and free admission to the dance club, the rally fans can pick up their special wristbands at the Red Bull Energy Station in the Service Park. Moreover, the supporting programme of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland includes further promotions and offers, such as the Red Bull Energy Station in the Service Park Trier, a huge fun area of approx. 100m2 including driving simulators, drinks, sweepstakes and chill-out zones.

Sunday, 23 August 2015

SS 18 & 20 Stein & Wein (19.59km, 07:07 hours & 10:31 hours): The first leg of this Special Stage on Saturday is something for early risers. On the terrain east of Trier, the rally teams will be in for another ascent into the vineyards. Tip for fans: Waldrach Sportplatz (athletic field). This spectator area conveys a genuinely arena-like atmosphere.

SS 19 & 21 Dhrontal (14.08km, 08:11 hours & 12:08 hours): This Special Stage to the northeast of Trier is notorious for its many hairpin bends. Its second leg is a Power Stage which yields extra points. Tip for fans: Galeria Dhron. The perfect "look-out" to watch the drivers chase around the switchbacks below.

Podium ceremony at the Porta Nigra in Trier (15:00 hours): Almost there: With the Special Stages completed, the podium ceremony against the historic backdrop of the Porta Nigra in Trier will be the fitting conclusion for the 2015 ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Tip for fans: possible coronation of the World Champion. Sébastien Ogier stands a good chance of defending his title in Germany.

Sébastien Ogier could clinch the WRC title in Germany

One thing is certain: on the final day of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland, the fans will cheer for the winners of the rally in front of the Porta Nigra. They may possibly also celebrate Sébastien Ogier's third successive WRC title. Under certain conditions, the French driver and his co-pilot, Julien Ingrassia, may achieve the hattrick. All he has to do is win in Germany and increase his current 89-point lead even more. Should Ogier succeed in being no less than 112 points ahead of his closest contender, the title will be his. Ogier may become World Champion in Germany if he augments his lead over Jari-Matti Latvala by at least 23 points, his lead over Mads Østberg by at least 14 points and his lead over Andreas Mikkelsen by at least 13 points. Should they clinch their first home victory at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland, the Volkswagen Motorsport team could also take a giant step towards an early defence of their title in the manufacturer's classification. However, a look at the statistics confirms that the final word will not be spoken in Germany.

Rally up-close at the Service Park in Trier

For four days, the Service Park on the Trier fairgrounds will be the hub of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. This is where the drivers turn in for their 15-minute morning service, the 30-minute noon-time service and the 45-minute night-time flexi service. There is nowhere better to get close to the drivers or watch them and their crews at work or get autographs. Moreover, the Service Park is the place to find numerous promotional activities, the fan shops, the info point, food and refreshments, sanitary facilities, as well as a medical station and other services. Tip for fans: Jägerkaserne. This car park offers the best access, since there are no parking spaces at the Service Park itself nor opposite, along the B49.

Scheduled arrival times for the first cars at the Service Park in Trier:

Thursday, 20 August 2015: open around the clock; no set service times.
Friday, 21 August 2015: 13:10 hours, 19:20 hours
