  • Field for the high-speed school promises thrilling racing
  • Schumacher team US Racing and drivers from Nico Rosberg’s academy among the starters
  • Hamda Al Qubaisi and Sebastian Montoya line up again for Prema

Munich. Ralf Schumacher and his team are back for another crack, drivers from Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg’s academy are joining the field, Van Amersfoort Racing lines up with no fewer than five drivers, and the son of former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya takes his place on the grid again: the stage is set for a thrilling seventh season in ADAC Formula 4. In Hamda Al Qubaisi (18, United Arab Emirates) the field also includes a young lady. All the entrants share one dream: to make it to the pinnacle of motor racing – Formula 1. This year’s ADAC Formula 4 season kicks off in Austria for the first time. From 11th to 13th June, ADAC Formula 4 will share the bill with the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring, the venue for the Austrian Grand Prix in Formula 1. The ADAC Formula 4 races can be seen live and free on TVNOW (RTL + in the future), Germany’s leading streaming portal.

“ADAC Formula 4 remains one of the top series for youngsters looking to make it in Formula racing in Europe. We are pleased to welcome two new teams to the series, in the form of BWR and Sauter Engineering+Design. A glance at Formula 1 reveals just how successful our support of young drivers has been: in Lando Norris and Mick Schumacher, two of our former drivers have made it to the pinnacle of motor racing, and more than half the drivers in this year’s Formula 2 field have come through ADAC Formula 4,” says ADAC Sport President Hermann Tomczyk.

Ralf Schumacher’s nephew Mick is making his way in Formula 1 – in the US Racing team, rookie champion Tim Tramnitz (16, Hamburg) and Vlad Lomko (16, Russia) have their sights set firmly on the title in their second season in ADAC Formula 4. British Formula 4 champion, Luke Browning (19) also lines up for US Racing. Van Amersfoort goes into the season with former US Racing driver Oliver Bearman (15, Great Britain), Cenyu Han (16, China), Bence Valint (16, Hungary), Nikita Bedrin (15, Russia) and Joshua Dufek (16, Austria/Switzerland).

Erich Baumgärtner, race engineer at Team Rosberg until last year, enters ADAC Formula 4 with his own team, BWR Motorsport, for the first time this season. The team is cooperating with Nico Rosberg’s academy. Doing the driving will be kart world champion Taylor Barnard (Great Britain) and Valentino Catalano (15, Germany). Sauter Engineering+Design is the second team that is new to the series this year. Starting for Stephan Sauter’s team is his son Michael Sauter (16, Switzerland).

The Prema Powerteam will also feature at selected events in the German Formula series. Sebastian Montoya (15, Columbia) has inherited his father Juan Pablo’s racing genes and adds his illustrious surname to the ADAC Formula 4 field. He is joined in his team by Hamda Al Qubaisi, Danish champion Conrad Laursen (15), and Kirill Smal (15, Russia).

French team R-ace GP is back for more in 2021. Victor Bernier (16, France) will be looking to feature at the front of the field. He ended last season’s ADAC Formula 4 in fifth place with two race wins to his name. the 16-year-old is now out to challenge for the Drivers title in the high-speed school. Starting alongside him for R-ace GP are Marcus Amand (16, France) and Sami Meguetounif (16, France).
