- ADAC Formula 4 patron looking forward to German Grand Prix

Munich: Sebastian Vettel has experienced a lot in his life as a racing driver - from his first efforts in amateur karting to his successful move to Formula 1 and the top echelons of the sport via the Formula BMW ADAC, which has brought him four world titles to date. But Vettel, who currently drives for the illustrious Scuderia Ferrari in Formula 1, has never forgotten where his journey first began. "I can still remember my early years in formula racing. I owe a lot to the ADAC," says the patron of the ADAC Formula 4 in an interview with the ADAC Motorwelt, which can be read in its entirety in the current issue: "It was a terrific period in my life and was also important to help me mature as a racing driver."
Vettel knows exactly what he's talking about and wants to share his experiences with the next generation coming through into single-seater racing. Consequently, he is proud as a relatively young man of only 30 to act as patron for the ADAC Formula 4 and to support motor racing talents in that role. "It's why I'm so delighted to be able to add to the attractiveness of Formula 4 in conjunction with the ADAC. I follow the championship closely. These guys have a very high standard of racing and I'm certain that I'll be seeing some of them later on in Formula 1," says Vettel.
Vettel and the current crop of ADAC Formula 4 drivers will definitely get to meet up this summer when Formula 1 returns to Germany for the first time in two years. ADAC Formula 4 teams and drivers will be at Hockenheim on the weekend of 20th - 22nd July, racing as an F1 support series.
The ADAC is running a special campaign for members, who can receive a ten per cent discount on Formula 1 tickets for Hockenheim. Further information about the race meeting and the interview with Sebastian Vettel can be found in the current issue of ADAC Motorwelt and online at www.adac.de/motorwelt.
