- Grandson of former F1 champion Emerson Fittipaldi to drive for 2017 champions
- Strong performance in ADAC F4 debut at the Nürburgring
- Fittipaldi: “I just can’t wait for the season to begin”
Munich: ADAC Formula 4 has a promising newcomer in the shape of Enzo Fittipaldi (16, Brazil, Prema Powerteam), grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi. 2018 will be Enzo’s first full season in the ADAC High-Speed Academy. Fittipaldi, who is also a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, will be lining up for Prema Powerteam, as he did on his guest appearance in the 2017 campaign. The ADAC Formula 4 season gets underway at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 13th - 15th April. SPORT1 will be broadcasting the races on TV.
Fittipaldi showed what an excellent prospect he was on his ADAC Formula 4 debut at the Nürburgring, attracting plaudits for a strong performance and a creditable third place. At Prema, they are convinced of the talent of the young Brazilian. “It was great to see how well he managed on his first outing in formula racing,” says team manager Grazia Troncon, who has herself now had two successful years in ADAC Formula 4. “If he continues to develop like that, he should be one of the main contenders this year.” The squad of the Italian outfit in 2017 included Juri Vips (17, Estonia), who won the championship, and Marcus Armstrong (17, New Zealand), who finished runner-up. This was more than enough for Prema to take the team championship for the second time in a row.
16-year-old Enzo Fittipaldi has set his targets high for the 2018 season: “I just can’t wait for the season to begin, and I’m delighted to be working with Prema again – they are such a professional team. Last year was good anyway, and I’m very confident that 2018 will be a year to remember.”
