Poles for Schramm and Schumacher at Sachsenring

• Kim-Luis Schramm secures pole position for Race 1
• First pole in ADAC Formula 4 for Mick Schumacher
• Mike David Ortmann second in both races

Hohenstein-Ernstthal: Kim Luis Schramm (DEU, US Racing) and Mick Schumacher (17, DEU, Prema Powerteam) will start from pole position in the fourth and fifth race of the ADAC Formula 4 at Sachsenring. 18-year-old Schramm set the best time of 1:18.830 minutes in qualifying for the first race at the Sachsenring. "That was a pretty perfect day today, from early morning until late evening. I was consistently one of the fastest, and things have now ultimately also worked out in qualifying. I've done enough to secure pole in the first race. Everything has worked out well, and I'm very happy," said Schramm. "Pole position can only mean mounting an all-out offensive. I will obviously try to do my best and secure the win," said Schumacher about his first pole.

Mike David Ortmann (16, DEU, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV) completes the line-up on the front row in the first of three ADAC Formula 4 races in Saxony. The ADAC Sports Foundation protégé covered the circuit in 1:18.987 on his fastest lap. "There were about five and a half minutes left in the end, and I still hadn't completed a decent lap. It was obvious that the two laps just had to be right, and they were, twice!" said Ortmann, "It went really well. I'm now really keen to get cracking as the first race draws closer." SPORT1 will broadcast the first of the ADAC Formula 4 three races live on Saturday at 4.45 pm.

Overall championship leader on second row

Starting from third on the grid in the race on Saturday, Mick Schumacher has a good chance of achieving a place among the front-runners at the Sachsenring (1:18.967). Joey Mawson (20, Australia, Van Amersfoort Racing) will line up behind the son of record Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher. Mawson is 19 points clear of Schumacher in the overall standings ahead of the races at the Sachsenring. ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Jannes Fittje (16, DEU, US Racing, 1:19.044) and Nicklas Nielsen (19, Denmark, Neuhauser Racing, 1:19.547) will start the race from the third row.

Schumacher on pole in second race

Grid positions for the second race on Sunday (live on SPORT1+, starting at 11.15 am and as a live stream at www.adac.de/motorsport) are decided on the basis of the second-best lap times of the session. Mick Schumacher got his nose in front with a time of 1:19.148 to secure his maiden pole position in the ADAC Formula 4. He was followed home by Mike David Ortmann (1:19.305) and Jannes Fittje (1:19.186).

Grid positions for the third race on Sunday (live on SPORT1+ at 3:35 pm) are determined by the results of Race 1. The Top Ten start in reverse order.

The fastest 22 drivers in the quali qualify directly for the three ADAC Formula 4 races. The remaining drivers will compete for the remaining places on the grid in a qualifying race on Saturday morning at 10:45 am.
