The third of three Formel ADAC races scheduled for the Sachsenring had to be abandoned on only the second lap. The problems began when Nicolas Pohler (16, Starnberg, Team KUG Motorsport) spun off into the gravel bed. Race marshals were quickly on hand to recover Pohler's car.
But no sooner had they begun their work than first Florian Herzog (18, Dresden, Mücke Motorsport) and then Kim-Alexander Giersiepen (18, Radevormwald, KSW Motorsport) lost control and ploughed into the stricken vehicle. Herzog was uninjured, Giersiepen was taken to the nearby hospital for a check-up.
The stewards stopped the race and subsequently decided against a restart. Consequently, no championship points have been awarded for this last of the three races on the bill at the Sachsenring.
