Finale at the Nürburgring: Who will be DTM eSports champion and win a place in the BMW M2 Cup?

Munich. For the first time in the history of the DTM eSports Championship, the champion will be crowned in an on-site finale: this season's top 20 sim racers will go head to head on Saturday (15th August) as part of the DTM event at the Nürburgring. The drivers all start with a clean slate, as any points scored during the season are scratched ahead of the finale - everyone starts from zero. The champion will be rewarded with an outing on the real racetrack: they can look forward to a start in the BMW M2 Cup at the DTM finale in Hockenheim.

All Saturday, Sim racing fans have the opportunity to watch over the shoulders of the sim racers, as they go about their work. The final races will be held in the RaceRoom SimRaceCafé on the Ring Boulevard. The morning features the practice sessions for the races at the Hockenheimring and the Nürburgring. From 15:00, the competition enters the business end of proceedings, as the four final races get underway. The DTM eSports finale can be seen from 20:30 on the DTM YouTube channel.

Strong field: Three champions in the title race
The starting grid will feature three of the past four DTM eSports champions: Moritz Löhner (Mouz), Tim Jarschel and reigning champion Lucas Müller (both Falken Simracing Team). They are undoubtedly among the big favourites. However, the opposition has also made a case for itself over the course of the season: Jonas Wanner (Alpha One by SX) scored the most points in the qualifying phase, closely followed by Alessandro Ottaviani (Dörr eSports by SX) and Turkka Häkkinen (Needracing.com). Nikodem Wisniewski (Williams F1 Team Gaming) just made it into the finale in 19th place. It was even tighter for Nils Dautzenberg (IY Racing by BRC eSports), who secured the final ticket in 20th place.

Four hours flat-out – no tactical games
An intense race day awaits the drivers on Saturday: two 30-minute races will be held at both the Hockenheimring and the Nürburgring. As there are no mandatory pit stops, every battle and every position counts from the first second. Ahead of each race, the drivers have five minutes of free practice and a seven-minute qualifying session. There is no time to catch their breath, as they then head straight onto the starting grid. The sessions for the two races at the Hockenheimring are scheduled for 15:00 and 16:00. They are followed at 17:00 and 18:00 by the two races at the Nürburgring.

Outing in the BMW M2 Cup, GT4 test, and other attractive prizes
The 2026 DTM eSports Championship boasts a prize purse of € 85,000. As well as a cheque for € 5000, the new champion will also be delighted to receive the highlight of the competition: an outing in the BMW M2 Cup at the DTM finale at the Hockenheimring in October. A real GT4 test with W&S Motorsport, which will take place on 23rd August as part of the DTM test day at the Sachsenring, awaits the runner-up.

The winner of the Pole Position Award will receive an exclusive combination prize from KW and BBS, consisting of a set of rims and a chassis kit, including a trip to Fichtenberg and professional assembly on their own car. The award for the fastest race lap is presented by TrackTime. The winner is rewarded with a rig in the official DTM design.
