- New season of the SimRacing series kicks off in March
- Qualifying phase for the 32 permanent starting places is underway
Munich. Who will succeed DTM eSports champion Tim Jarschel? We will know the answer to this question by 18th July at the latest, when the final round of the 2025 DTM eSports Championship draws to a close. Between the start of the season on 21st March and the finale in July, the schedule for the new season of the DTM SimRacing championship on the RaceRoom platform consists of 12 races across six events. A total of 32 permanent starting places are available for the 2025 DTM eSports Championship. Interested sim racers have until 31st January to set a fast lap time and qualify via two leaderboard competitions. As well as quality non-cash prizes, a financial reward of € 15,000 also awaits the top eSports racers in the DTM eSports Championship.
The qualifying phase for the permanent starting places is already up and running. Sim racers have until 8th January to secure their place in the first of two qualifying races (Shootout 1) on 17th January. 32 drivers line up in the Shootout, with the fastest 16 progressing to compete in the 2025 DTM eSports Championship. The second opportunity is from 17th to 31st January. The full field of 32 permanent racers will then be known after the second qualifying race on 7th February.
The race format has been amended slightly for the 2025 season. Each race day will feature two races, with a qualifying session for each race. Race one is a 22-minute sprint, while the second race lasts 32 minutes. It also includes a mandatory pit stop, during which the drivers must change two tyres.
Attractive prizes await the competitors in the DTM eSports Championship. For example, they could win a share of the € 15,000 prize purse. Furthermore, attractive non-cash prizes like BBS wheels, a JBL Bluetooth Box, an Ascher racing wheel, and a KW suspension kit are also up for grabs. The "Grand Prize" for the overall winner will be announced at the start of the season.
The community will also be involved on the six race days: at each round, DTM eSports fans can go head to head in a Community Race. Not only will they race with cars from the 2024 season, but RaceRoom's historic DTM class will also be used. Participants earn their starting places via a competition leaderboard, through which the amateur racers qualify for each race.
