Flash News – Thomas Preining is 2026 DTM champion
- Austrian wins the DTM for the second time with Porsche and Manthey
Hockenheim. Thomas Preining is the 2026 DTM champion. The Austrian added a second title to the one he won in 2023, sealing the deal at the season finale at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. Preining had come into the deciding race weekend as championship leader, and with a 23-point lead over Maro Engel (Monaco). The Porsche driver from the Manthey team finished third in Sunday's final race - a result that saw him triumph in the grand showdown for the DTM crown. The racer from Linz has now won the DTM title twice in the space of four years. A detailed race report and a portrait of new DTM champion Thomas Preining will follow.
