New feature: Fans decide the “Driver of the Day”

Munich. The DTM is offering fans even more interaction and excitement in 2026. In cooperation with DTM fashion partner PME Legend, the series is launching a new feature: “Driver of the Day”. Fans can vote for their driver of the day at this weekend's opener at the Red Bull Ring (24th to 26th April), as well as the remaining seven events. Live voting takes place during the race and gives spectators around the world the opportunity to support their personal favourites.

The technological basis of the new features in the innovative platform from GriiipLive, which also supports the DTM Racecontrol powered by Bosch, which was introduced last year. This allows efficient, detailed live timing and functions as a command centre for those fans who wish to follow the race action even more intensely. An interactive map of the circuit shows the current position of all cars, as well as notable events, such as overtaking manoeuvres, incidents, fastest sector times, safety cars, and flags. Visual graphics, which clearly illustrate overtakes and time gaps, add to the experience.

The vote for “Driver of the Day” powered by PME Legend begins when the race gets underway and ends shortly before the finish. Fans can easily take part during all 16 races via the DTM app, at dtm.com, and by QR code, which is displayed during the TV coverage. The “Driver of the Day” powered by PME Legend will be announced immediately after the end of the race in the live broadcast and on the DTM's social media channels.
