- Lamborghini Temerario GT3 set for DTM debut, three new Evo models in action
- Free entry for spectators, with great view from the Steiermark Grandstand
Munich. The 2026 DTM is under starter's orders: The official test day, on Tuesday 14th April at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, is a dress rehearsal for the new season for drivers and teams alike. The drivers have roughly eight hours of track time, in which to prepare for the start of the season and familiarise themselves with the new tyres, which Pirelli has developed exclusively for the DTM. Fans can follow the showdown between the full DTM field free of charge from the Steiermark Grandstand, giving them a taste of what they can expect at the DTM opener at the same venue from 24th to 26th April.
In Lamborghini ace Mirko Bortolotti (I/TGI Team by GRT), Porsche works driver Thomas Preining (A/Manthey) and Marco Wittmann (Fürth/Schubert Motorsport) in the BMW M4 GT3 Evo, three DTM champions will be looking to use the test to lay the foundations for another title. One big name returning to the series is South African Kelvin van der Linde, who lines up as Wittmann's team-mate in a BMW M4 GT3.
Four newcomers will enter the DTM stage and take on the opposition for the first time in Spielberg: experienced GT racers Matteo Cairoli (Emil Frey Racing) and Marco Mapelli (Red Bull Team Abt) from Italy add top-class international flair to the field. Denmark's Bastian Buus (Land-Motorsport) and Finn Wiebelhaus (HRT Ford Racing) from Obertshausen, winner of the "Road to DTM" in the ADAC GT Masters, are two youngsters who will be stepping into the DTM spotlight for the first time.
There is great excitement about the DTM premiere of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3, which takes to the track with a 4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine generating roughly 585 hp, and will be run by TGI Team by GRT and Red Bull Team Abt. Porsche, Ferrari and Ford also line up with new Evo versions of their tried-and-tested race cars. All eyes will also be on the new Pirelli slick, which was developed exclusively for the DTM.
