- Former Formula 1 driver Timo Glock lines up for the team from Frankfurt
- Third season in the DTM for McLaren Junior driver Ben Dörr
- Team owner Dörr: "We want to make it onto the podium"
Munich. Dörr Motorsport is all set for its third DTM season this year, and can continue to rely on Formula 1 experience: Timo Glock (Kreuzlingen), who has 91 Grand Prix starts to his name, and team-mate Ben Dörr (Butzbach) will each drive a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo. Last year, the Frankfurt-based team was in contention for podium finishes and secured the maiden pole position for the British sports car manufacturer in the DTM. The team from the state of Hesse is now looking to back up that performance this year.
"The confidence and belief that we will take another step forward this year is what motivates me," says Glock. "My expectations are we are able to convert the progress we have made in the off-season into consistently good race weekends. I am particularly looking forward to the races in Hockenheim and Spielberg, as both tracks really suit me and I particularly like driving there." The former Formula 1 driver from Kreuzlingen made his DTM comeback last year, and will now contest his second season with Dörr. In total, this is the twelfth year in the DTM for the five-time race winner.
Team-mate Dörr impressed at the Nürburgring in 2025, when he secured the first pole position for McLaren in the history of the DTM. The 21-year-old now is now hungry for more top results: "I expect us to consistently get good results and, over the course of the season, to enjoy one or two highlights," says the official McLaren GT3 Junior. "I am particularly driven by the desire for us to improve continuously, get faster all the time, and set our sights on challenging at the front in the coming season. I am most looking forward to the Nürburgring, as it went really well there last year."
"We want to consistently finish in the top five and, ideally, make it onto the podium together with McLaren," says Rainer Dörr, team owner of Dörr Motorsport, laying out the objectives for the coming season. "We have meticulously analysed our findings from the first two years in the DTM, and have reorganised virtually every area. From strengthening the personnel in the team and further developing the car in fine detail, to extensive test programmes. Our test data gives us plenty of reason to be confident and shows that we have taken a big step forward."
