- Lucas Auer and Tom Kalender start for Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf
- Mercedes-AMG Team Winward Racing lines up with Maro Engel and Jules Gounon
- Most successful manufacturer in the DTM has sights set on first Drivers title since 2021
Munich. Mission: To win the DTM title. Mercedes-AMG will continue its assault on the Drivers title with two teams and four strong drivers in the 2026 season. Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf lines up with Lucas Auer (A) and Tom Kalender (Hamm/Sieg) in two Mercedes-AMG GT3. Winward Racing puts its faith in Monaco resident Maro Engel and Jules Gounon (F), and will run the two cars as Mercedes-AMG Team Ravenol and Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter. When season 37 of the DTM gets underway in April, the most successful manufacturer in the history of the series will thus field the same tried-and-tested line-up as last year. The brand from Affalterbach has so far won 12 Drivers' Championships, 16 Manufacturer titles and 210 races in the DTM.
Auer won two DTM races in 2025 and, having led the championship for much of the year, ended the season in second place. "It is no secret that the DTM is something of a motorsport home for me," says the 31-year-old. "As such, I am very excited about the new season. This will be my second year with Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf – we put on a good show in 2025 and had an unbelievably intense, great and successful season. We want to back that up in 2026 and really push hard again."
Engel reaches a milestone this year, as he enters his tenth season in the DTM. Last year, the man from Munich finished third overall, just as he had done in 2024. Now he has his sights set on the title: "The DTM is motorsport of the very highest standard - a huge challenge, thrilling battles, and racing at the absolute limit. That is precisely what I am looking forward to. We know what we are capable of, but I am confident that we can do even better. That is what we want to focus on, and we will do everything in our power to do so. The main goal is the DTM title."
Gounon contested his first full DTM season in 2025 - the 2017 ADAC GT Masters champion underlined his talent with three podiums. "The DTM is a championship that I really enjoy, because it is uncompromising," says the Frenchman, who lines up with an Andorran licence. "When you get a good result in the DTM, it really feels sensational. My goal is to do my very best and approach the season one race at a time. Last year was my first in the DTM, and also the first time that I had worked with my engineer. I am now far more familiar with the series, and we know each other much better. That is something we want to build on."
Kalender is the youngest of the Mercedes-AMG contingent. The 17-year-old made his debut last season as the youngest DTM driver ever. "The DTM means a lot to me, and I am really looking forward to the start of the season," reveals the driver from Westerwald. "2025 was my rookie year, with good races but also a few setbacks, from which I have learned a lot. I now want to put what I have learned into practice, get closer to the other Mercedes-AMG drivers, and consistently establish myself in the top ten. I have worked hard over the winter - physically and mentally - and come into the new season with a little less pressure."
For Christoph Sägemüller, Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, the focus this year is on the Drivers' Championship, which the manufacturer last won five years ago with Maximilian Götz: "The DTM is a special platform. Having won the Drivers' Championship in 2021, our clear goal is to bring the title back to Affalterbach. We have come very close twice, finishing runner-up in the past two years."
