- Porsche presents new race cars for 2026 at the DTM event at the Nürburgring
- New 911 GT3 R and 911 Cup unveiled in the Eifel Mountains
Nürburg. Round five of this season's DTM at the Nürburgring provided the stage for not one but two world premieres. This weekend (8th to 10th August), Porsche is presenting two new cars for the 2026 season: the optimised version of the 911 GT3 R (Generation 992) and the 911 Cup (Generation 992.2). The new 911 GT3 R will be run in the DTM next year, while the new 911 GT3 Cup will be used in Porsche one-make cups, such as the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland and the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux.
Fans can check out both cars for the first time in the DTM paddock at the Nürburgring. The improved Porsche 911 GT3 R features many detailed optimisations, including modified aerodynamics. The most striking feature of the further-developed 911 GT3 R are the additional air intakes for the wheel arches on the top of the front fenders. The new edition of the 911 Cup combined extensive, detailed modifications with the design of Generation 992.2 of the 911. Further development focussed on improved performance and easier handling for the drivers and teams.
