- Former Formula 1 driver Jack Aitken gunning for the title in his third year
- Dutchman Thierry Vermeulen sets sights on his first DTM race win
- Newcomer Ben Green out to prove himself in his rookie season
Munich. Emil Frey Racing has added to its contingent in the DTM and will line up with three Ferrari 296 GT3 for the first time in the coming season. Britain's Jack Aitken and his Dutch team-mate Theirry Vermeulen start their third DTM year together with the Swiss team. New in the cockpit is Ben Green from Great Britain, who is hungry for success as he prepares for his DTM debut. Emil Frey Racing has been competing in the DTM since 2023 and currently has four race wins and a further two podiums to its name.
Aitken caught the eye on multiple occasions in his second DTM season. The driver from London celebrated three victories last year, at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, in Zandvoort in the Netherlands, and at the Sachsenring. No other driver secured more race wins. This year, the 29-year-old is looking to score top results even more consistently and to win his first DTM title. "I am absolutely thrilled to be contesting another DTM season with Emil Frey Racing. We have a package, with which we can win races. However, the goal for this year is definitely to challenge for the title," says Aitken.
Team-mate Vermeulen is gunning for his maiden DTM victory. Having made his first appearance on the podium with a third place at the Sachsenring last season, the 22-year-old is now hungry to take the next step. Vermeulen will again be able to count on the support of Max Verstappen. The youngster and the four-time Formula 1 world champion are regularly in touch and are particularly well connected through Vermeulen's father Raymond, who is Verstappen's manager. "We spent the whole winter prepare meticulously for the new DTM season. Everyone in the team knows their job, and I know exactly what areas I want to improve in," says Vermeulen.
Now in his fifth season in GT3 racing, Green is stepping up to the DTM and looking forward to the new challenge. "I expect a very exciting season," says Green. "Jack Aitken, Thierry Vermeulen and I will form a fantastic team and push each other to perform at our best." The 27-year-old drove for Schubert Motorsport in the ADAC GT Masters in 2022 and 2023, winning two races during that time. Last year, Green joined Emil Frey Racing and enjoyed success in the GT World Challenge Europe with the team from Safenwil, to the west of Zürich.
Lorenz Frey-Hilti, team principal at Emil Frey Racing, is excited about the new DTM season: "With three cars in the DTM, we have an intense 2025 season ahead of us. Our goal is to challenge at the head of the field. We are very motivated, ready for the challenge, and looking forward to the first races."
