Munich. The DTM finally returns to the track next week. The official Test and Media Days at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg from 9th to 11th April represent the first show of strength of the season. Four sessions with over six hours of driving time are scheduled for the iconic circuit to the south of Mannheim – perfect prerequisites for the teams to get plenty of test laps under their belt and gather valuable data for the upcoming 16 races. Fans can get up close to the action during the dress rehearsal for the DTM’s 40th anniversary season, and can also enjoy the test activities of the ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany.
Thomas Preining (A) the man everyone is out to beat in Hockenheim and at the subsequent eight race weekends. The Porsche works driver and his team Manthey EMA are defending champions in the Drivers’ Championship and the Team competition. As well as Preining, a notable collection of the GT3 elite will also be battling it out for this year’s DTM crown. They include last year’s runner-up Mirko Bortolotti (I), Lucas Auer (A), Ricardo Feller (CH) and the three champions René Rast (Bregenz), Sheldon van der Linde (ZA) and Marco Wittmann (Fürth).
Two teams are set for their DTM premiere at the first showdown of the 2024 season: Paul Motorsport and Dörr Motorsport will make their debut in the popular racing series this year. While Paul Motorsport puts its faith in a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 with Maximilian Paul (Dresden) at the wheel, Dörr Motorsport lines up with two McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.
The paddock and inner grandstand C are open to visitors during the test. Tickets are available for € 8 from the Welcome Center at the Hockenheimring. Free parking is available in the Südtribune (south stand) area.
Information on the 2024 DTM will be provided in a press conference with ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss, which will be streamed live on the DTM YouTube channel (
youtube.com/@DTM) from 12:30 on Wednesday (10th April).
