Munich. As the DTM celebrates a special anniversary this year, DTM Classic will take a unique journey back through time at the Norisring in Nuremberg (5th to 7th July). The rolling motorsport museum will start in the Franconian city, where spectators can look forward to cars and drivers from four decades of DTM history. Fans will experience motorsport history up close and personal in two races.
The DTM Classic field features many classes of car from the world of GT and touring car racing. As well as former DTM cars, which served up a feast of spectacular motorsport from 1984 to 1996 and again since 2000, Group 5 cars from the German Motor Racing Championship (1976-1981) and the Super Touring Car Championship (1994-1999) will also take their place on the grid. As such, the DTM crowd can expect a large selection of historic highlights from manufacturers Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Ford, Mercedes and Porsche. A number of stars from days gone by will also be in action at the Franconian Monaco. The drivers will contest two 40-minute races. The races include one pit stop, during which the driver may be swapped: registrations for DTM Classic at the Norisring are possible now at the following link:

The DTM and DTM Classic are not the only reasons that Germany’s only street circuit is worth the trip. The attractive support programme also includes ADAC GT4 Germany and the BMW M2 Cup. The DTM on the streets of Nuremberg will also provide the platform for the world’s first fully-electric junior touring car series: the NXT Gen Cup is set for its Norisring debut, where it will stage its fourth race of the season.
