Munich. Before the DTM stars take their place at the wheel of their GT3 cars at this weekend’s season finale, Marvin Dienst (Lampertheim), Patric Niederhauser (CH) and Jusuf Owega (Cologne) found time to demonstrate their balls skills. On Thursday, the drivers visited the Rhein-Neckar Löwen handball club, who play in the German Bundesliga. The trio was only too happy to show off their ball skills to the two-time German champions and current DHB Cup holders. The drivers were given some handy tips from German international Philipp Ahouansou. As well as practicing some rapid dribbling, they also took penalties against current junior world champion David Späth. The DTM will also receive a visit from a world champion on Sunday: Oliver Roggisch, sporting director at the Rhein-Neckar Löwen and 2007 Handball World Championships hero, will follow the finale live at the racetrack.
The focus on Thursday shifted to the three title contenders: Thomas Preining (A), Mirko Bortolotti (I) and Ricardo Feller (CH). Together with their cars from Porsche, Lamborghini and Audi, they headed to the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg – the venue for the final two races of the season. Instead of competing with each other for the fastest times, the title trio posed together for a photo shoot.
Attached you will find photos from the DTM drivers’ visit to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, as well as the title contenders at the iconic circuit in Hockenheim.
