Attractive stage: DTM set to thrill with packed programme in 2023

Munich. Fascinating GT racers, a new fully-electric racing series, spectacular prototypes and classics from throughout the history of the DTM – this season, the DTM offers visitors an entertaining motorsport package at every event. Thrilling motor racing comes courtesy of the ADAC GT Masters, which shares the bill with the DTM on four occasions, and ADAC GT4 Germany, which will start at six events. The support programme for the DTM will feature fiercely-contested one-make cups from BMW and Porsche, as well as the talented female drivers in the new F1 Academy for the first time. DTM Classic takes spectators on a journey back through almost four decades of the DTM. At the Nürburgring, the DTM event will include a new series with fully-electric race cars: the NXT Gen Cup.

Fans can enjoy the top-class programme at DTM race weekends for as little as 39 euros – including access to the paddock. Admission is free for children and under 16s when accompanied by an adult. ADAC members save 10 percent when purchasing their tickets online in advance. Tickets for all DTM events are available at dtm.com.

ADAC GT4 Germany
The DTM opener at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (26th to 28th May) is set to be a feast of motorsport – not least because it also marks the opening round of this season’s ADAC GT4 Germany. This year, the series will feature on the DTM platform on six occasions. A total of 58 drivers in 29 cars representing 14 teams make up this season’s field. There is also a good variety of manufacturers, with GT4 cars from Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota going head to head.

ADAC GT Masters
The race weekend at the Norisring (7th to 9th July) is one of the absolute highlights. The ADAC GT Masters joins the DTM at the only street circuit in Germany. This marks the return of the ADAC GT Masters to Nuremberg for the first time in 15 years. The series can then be seen at a further three events this season. Out on the track, each cockpit is shared by two drivers. As of this year, each car must have a Silver or a Bronze driver. A prize purse of more than 570,000 euros awaits the competitors.

Prototype Cup Germany
The stage is set for the second year of the Prototype Cup Germany: As well as lining up at the DTM weekend in Oschersleben, the series organised by the ADAC and Creventic can also be seen on the Dutch coast at Zandvoort (23rd to 25th June) and at the famous Norisring. LMP3 prototypes from three manufacturers are battling it out in the 2023 Prototype Cup Germany. A large field of 16 LMP3 cars, generating 455 hp, lined up at the season-opener at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg at the end of April.

DTM Classic
The DTM makes its first appearance at the legendary Norisring in 2023, where it will take visitors on a foray through almost 40 years of racing history. The vintage Group A touring cars from the 1980s and the high-tech Class 1 racers from the 1990s also start at the Lausitzring (18th to 20th August). Furthermore, fans at the season-opener in Oschersleben and at the Nürburgring (4th to 6th August) can also look forward to a show programme with demonstration laps from vintage race cars.

Porsche one-make cups
The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland will hold its races at no fewer than six DTM weekends. The oldest Porsche one-make cup makes its first appearance of the year in Zandvoort with 32 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars and more than 16,000 hp. In Laurin Heinrich (D/KÜS Team Bernhard), the 2022 champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland starts in the DTM this year. Another Porsche racing series – the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux – joins the DTM support programme at the race weekend in Zandvoort and at the Red Bull Ring.

BMW M2 Cup
Fans can look forward to the BMW M2 Cup for the third year in a row. The series will hold its races at six DTM events in 2023, with drivers going head to head at the wheel of BMW M2 CS Racing cars. The one-make cup offers young drivers an attractive platform, on which to demonstrate their talent in the high-class DTM environment.

F1 Academy and Formula Regional European Championship
A new Formula series, the F1 Academy, lines up at the DTM race weekend at the circuit in the Dutch dunes in Zandvoort. This is the first opportunity for fans to watch the Tatuus F4-T421 racers in action in this junior Formula 1 class, which provides extensive support to its female drivers. The field comprises 15 drivers from five teams in the inaugural season. With the Formula Regional European Championship, the DTM support programme will feature another Formula series at the season finale at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg (20th to 22nd October).

NXT Gen Cup
A fully-electric racing series will also feature on the DTM programme for the first time. The NXT Gen Cup and its field of fully-electric cars is set to make its debut at the Nürburgring. The two races will be contested in the 230-hp LRT NXT 1 car, which is based on the road-approved Mini Cooper SE. A host of talented youngsters start in the Swedish series, which travels to Germany join the DTM at the Nürburgring and the ADAC Racing Weekend in Oschersleben.
