- ADAC carries successful partnership with BWT into the DTM
- Joint initiative for greater sustainability in the DTM paddock
- Continuation of commitment in ADAC GT Masters
Munich. BWT and the DTM will be firmly in the fast lane when it comes to sustainability in the 2023 season. This year, the ADAC and the world-renowned water treatment company from Austria are intensifying and enhancing their partnership, which has been in place since 2021, to incorporate the DTM. Drivers, teams and visitors at DTM weekends will all benefit from the joint initiative to reduce plastic waste in the paddock. With the BWT Race Lap Award, the DTM and BWT will donate a fixed amount for each race lap completed in the globally popular series to b.waterMission, which supports drinking water projects in Africa.
“We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with the ADAC to now also include the DTM. The ADAC has consistently bought into and implemented our idea to avoid plastic bottles from the outset. As such, it is only logical for us to continue our joint initiative in the DTM. In keeping with our mission to ‘Change the World – sip by sip’, the whole DTM will be supplied with our water dispensers. They will guarantee the teams and, in the future, spectators naturally mineralised drinking water that is enriched with magnesium and zinc – BWT DIAMOND WATER – straight from the tap, without any single-use plastic,” says Anna Grubeck, Head of BWT Sport Sponsoring.
“BWT and the ADAC – this partnership has grown over many years, and we are taking it to a new level with the DTM. Together, we will work to achieve even more sustainability in motorsport. The initiative we introduced to avoid plastic waste has saved more than 230,000 plastic bottles over the past two years. We will now continue down this route together with BWT and show that motorsport and sustainability can go hand in hand,” says ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss.
As well as the commitment in the DTM, the ADAC GT Masters is also in pole position when it comes to sustainability. In both racing series, BWT will provide water dispensers for the teams in the pits and in the team hospitalities. More BWT water dispensers will also be positioned in the DTM Media Center, Race Control and the ADAC members lounge, as well as in the TV compound and the Pirelli tyre service. Four BWT water stations in the paddock also guarantee free access to BWT water products for all visitors, who can look forward to the sustainable innovation in the DTM from the season-opener on 26th May at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
