- World championship promoter and organizer CER GmbH discussing the future of the CER
Munich. As things stand, the World Rally Championship (FIA WRC) will make a final appearance in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic at the Central European Rally from 16th to 19th October 2025. The Central European Rally took place between 2023 and 2025 as a world championship event, but will not feature on the WRC calendar next year. The economic framework conditions have prevented an extension of the existing agreement with the world championship promoter. WRC promoter and organizer CER GmbH are involved in constructive dialogue to investigate future opportunities for hosting top-level rally sport, while considering titles for a potential event in the coming years in the border region shared by the three countries.
This means that the CER 2025 currently represents the last chance for fans in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic to see the spectacular WRC cars and superstars like Sébastien Ogier or Thierry Neuville live in action in the heart of Europe. The preparations for this year's event are complete: starting from Passau, the drivers will be racing along around 305 kilometres over 18 stages through the Austria-Germany-Czech Republic border area.
