18.10.2023 - Central European Rallye

On TV, streaming services and radio: Rally action in your own home

  • Numerous stations to report from the Central European Rally – some live
  • Sport1, Servus TV and Cesca televise are the permanent broadcasters
  • Regional stations offer extensive coverage on TV and radio

The best place for fans to experience all the action from the Central European Rally, up close and unfiltered, is at the spectator points on the 18 special stages in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. However, anyone unable to make it to the new rally in Central Europe, or wanting to catch up on the highlights, can rely on extensive coverage on TV and streaming services. The FIA WRC’s broadcasting offerings and partners will ensure that every fan is catered for, from quick-fire information to extensive rally enjoyment. This is complemented in the rally region by renowned stations in each of the three event regions, who will also provide coverage of the rally.

Probably the most comprehensive reporting on round twelve of 13 in this season’s FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) will come courtesy of the championship itself. In-house station rally.tv will offer live coverage of all stages during the Central European Rally, as well as highlights and analysis. The Internet-based platform can be used on all devices and is on air 365 days a year – live from the rally region from 26th to 29th October, of course. The WRC’s own cameras will be positioned at numerous locations along the route, as well as providing images from helicopters and inside the rally cars themselves: top-class rally action up close and personal, from € 10.99 for the one-month pass.

The three rally regions also have broadcasters that accompany the world championship throughout the entire season. In German-speaking regions, for example, Sport1 broadcasts on free-to-air TV. As well as highlights, the station’s offering also includes a one-hour programme on the Sunday evening of each rally, keeping viewers up to date with the latest WRC news from that event. This is available in the Mediathek at sport1.de/channel/motorsport/wrc. Servus TV and Servus TV On also follow the WRC all year. They show highlights and also stream selected legs free of charge, while the Mediathek is the perfect place to rummage around in the world of WRC (servustv.com/sport/a/wrc-2023-die-rallye-weltmeisterschaft-live-bei-servustv-und-servustv-on/291015/). In the Czech Republic, FIA WRC is part of the range of programmes offered by Ceska televize. The station reports on the WRC all year round and is expanding its offering substantially for the rally on its own doorstep. A full-day programme on the Central European Rally will be available at sport.ceskatelevize.cz/#live on the Thursday (26th October), with live reports from the Ceremonial Start (13:00 – 14:00), SSS01 Velká Chuchle (14:00 – 15:00) and SSS02 Klatovy (18:00 – 19:00).

Rally information on TV and radio – terrestrial and digital
In Germany and Austria, additional free-to-air TV stations will also report on the WRC rally in the tri-border region. Niederbayern TV will feature the rally from 18:00 each day on the programme Niederbayern TV-Journal (Mediathek: niederbayerntv.de). Another regional station is on board in Austria, in the form of linear TV station LT1. However, it will not broadcast the WRC magazine programme until the Monday (30th October) at 18:00 (lt1.at/mediathek/). Radio listeners also have plenty of opportunities to stay up to speed with the latest news. German speakers, for example, are recommended to switch on BR Radio, which will provide information on the event as part of its programme on each day of the event (digital radio at br.de/radio/). Daily rally radio and special programmes are also planned on unserRadio (unserRadio.de) on Saturday and Sunday (28th and 29th October). Czech fan scan also listen to radio partner Frekvence 1 (frekvence1.cz).
