eni Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sachsenring: ADAC Sachsen to organise the event
As in 2012, ADAC Head Office in Munich has given ADAC Sachsen responsibility for all the sporting arrangements required for Germany’s only round of the Motorcycle World Championship at the Sachsenring in 2013. An agreement to that effect has been signed by both sides.
ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk: “With SRM Sachsenring Racetrack Management as promoter and ADAC Sachsen as event organisers, we aim to continue along the successful path set last year.” Commenting on this continuation of the existing set-up, Head of ADAC Motorsport Division Lars Soutschka added: “SRM and ADAC Sachsen did a sterling job in 2012, and so we intend to build on what was achieved last year to ensure that the German motorcycle world championship race will prove to be another resounding success.”
Despite last year’s bad weather, close to 200,000 spectators were at the circuit, and similar numbers are expected to turn out in 2013 to cheer on Stefan Bradl, reigning Moto3 world champion Sandro Cortese and the five other German MotoGP riders. Since 1st February 2013 when tickets went on sale (from 20 euros upwards), more than 60,000 have already been sold. The eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland takes place from 12th to 14th July 2013.
