Esports finale at the Hockenheimring: Who will be 2021 champion?

  • Final event of the ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+
  • Three races promise an exciting battle for the title
  • Livestream from 19:15 on Tuesday evening at youtube.com/adac

Munich. The virtual Hockenheimring hosts the finale to the 2021 season in the ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+ on Tuesday evening. In the final of the eSports, which boasts a prize purse of € 100,000, 32 sim racers will go head to head in three races. That gives Williams Esports drivers Jakub Brzezinski and Jack Keithley several opportunities to put championship leader Moritz Löhner (Dörr Esports) under pressure. The eSports showdown will be broadcast live, from 19:15 on Tuesday evening, at adac.de/motorsport and youtube.com/adac.

The title race has come down to the final event: Löhner currently leads the way with 354 points, followed by Brzezinski with 289 points and Keithley with 277. A maximum 125 points are up for grabs at the final round of the season. Löhner’s team-mates Florian Hasse and Bénce Banki also still have a chance of winning the title. Should Löhner manage to convert his ‘match point’, this would be his third title in a row, having previously won the ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+ in 2019 and 2020.

As at previous events, qualifying will determine the grid positions for the 20-minute sprint race. This is then followed by the main race, which lasts 40 minutes. Here, the top ten from the sprint race start in reverse order. To conclude the season, the sim racers will contest a further 40-minute race. Here, the grid positions are determined by the result of the sprint race – without a reverse grid.

The ADAC GT4 eSports Championship also holds its finale as part of the support programme for the ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship at the Hockenheimring. Emre Cihan has already been confirmed as champion-elect in this series. The Turkish sim racer has won every race so far this season. The battle for the runner-up spot, between Adam Pinczes and Alessandro Ottavani, remains exciting. Pinczes takes a 20-point lead into the race at the Hockenheimring.

As well as the regular competitors, Lorenz Stumpp, Jonas Wanner, Matija Markovic, Daniel Berka, Joyce Blöcker and Alejandro López Arjona have also qualified for a guest start at the final round.

The finale of the 2021 ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship will be broadcast live from 19:15 on Tuesday 19th October, in a livestream at youtube.com/adac. The programme will be presented by Tobi Schimon, with commentary from Patrick Simon and Thomas Bienert.
