FIA President Jean Todt attends ADAC GT Masters: Jean Todt, President of the Féderation Internationale de l`Automobile (FIA) was at the ADAC GT Masters in Spa-Francorchamps. Todt was especially interested in the new ADAC Formula 4 and the FIA Formula 3 Championship which is being contested under the ADAC GT Masters banner for the first time in Belgium. Todt got together with ADAC Director Motorsport and Classic Lars Soutschka and the ADAC Formula 4 drivers on Saturday evening for a group photo overlooking the legendary Eau Rouge at Spa.
Pirro und Johansson in Spa: The two former Formula 1 drivers and Le Mans winners Emanuele Pirro and Stefan Johansson were also busy at the ADAC GT Masters. Pirro acted as a driver steward for stewards running the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, while Johansson gave guidance to fellow Swede Felix Rosenqvist in Formula 3.
Kärcher hold a meeting: ADAC GT Masters series partners Kärcher used the ADAC GT Masters weekend at Spa-Francorchamps to stage a meeting of European top executives. Apart from going to the ADAC GT Masters races, a workshop was also on the agenda for the Kärcher managers.
Certina guests feel the buzz: Swiss sports watchmaker Certina, who were appointed Official Timekeepers of the ADAC GT Masters earlier this year, invited many guests to Spa-Francorchamps. Certina’s fascinated visitors spectated at the ADAC GT Masters races, inspected the starting grid and also took a look behind the scenes of the Super Sports Car League.
Top speed records: Spa-Francorchamps is the fastest circuit on the ADAC GT Masters calendar. Mercedes-Benz driver Bernd Schneider set a new record and secured pole position for Sunday’s race with an average speed of 182 km/h on his fastest lap. The record for the highest top speed was also broken in qualifying for the second race. Corvette driver Diego Alessi clocked a top speed of 272 km/h at the end of the Kemmel straight.
