Freak weather by the North Sea: The weather in Zandvoort was very capricious on all three days. Zandvoort produced the full range of weather for the ADAC GT Masters drivers and teams, from heavy rain and thunderstorms, hail and gusty winds to blue skies and bright sunshine. Even local driver Jeroen Bleekemolen was not prepared to stick his neck out and make a forecast in view of the changeable weather. “It’s impossible to make a reliable forecast due to the strong winds,” said the Dutchman, who grew up near the race track.

The right clothes: The loyal fans of Mercedes-Benz driver Maximilian Götz had the right approach to the weather. The fan club of the ADAC GT Masters champions of 2012, travelling from Austria to each round of the ADAC GT Masters, appeared on the grid on Saturday well equipped for the rain, wearing masks, snorkels, wetsuits and flippers!

Van der Zande guests: Former Mercedes-Benz DTM driver Renger van der Zande was delighted to pay a visit to the ADAC GT Masters weekend in Zandvoort.

Premiere for new YOKOHAMA wet weather tyres: A new rain tyre from exclusive tyre partner YOKOHAMA had its first outing in the ADAC GT Masters 2014 season during Saturday’s rain-affected first race. YOKOHAMA have developed new rain tyres for all supercars in the 2014 season.

Small home win for Estre: Jaap van Lagen was not the only one with a home win on Saturday, as there was also a ‘small win at home’ for team-mate Kévin Estre. The ADAC GT Masters race weekend at the Circuit Park Zandvoort was organised with the support of MSC Langenfeld. Langenfeld is now the Frenchman’s adopted home. 2014 marks the 50th year of cooperation between MSC Langenfeld and Circuit Park Zandvoort.
