Farnbacher Racing to field two Porsches and strong quartet of drivers

  • Former ADAC GT Masters champion Sebastian Asch boosts Farnbacher Racing’s chances
  • Porsche team from Ansbach aiming for the title with strong driver line-up in two 911s
  • Farnbacher Racing introduce first driver from Australia to the ADAC GT Masters

Farnbacher Racing are entering two Porsche 911s and their strongest driver line-up to date for the 2014 ADAC GT Masters. With two months to go before the start of the new Super Sports Car League campaign at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 25th - 27th April, Farnbacher Racing have signed up driver pairings for both Porsche 911s, including one new arrival with an especially impressive pedigree: 27-year-old Sebastian Asch from Ammerbuch (Baden-Württemberg) who won the ADAC GT Masters title in 2012 is back behind the wheel of a Porsche after two years as standard bearer for Mercedes-Benz and Audi. He shares the cockpit of the 911 with Philipp Frommenwiler (24) from Switzerland.

The second Farnbacher Porsche will by no means be playing merely a supporting role. Mario Farnbacher (21) from the team’s home town of Ansbach (Bavaria) and winner of two previous ADAC GT Masters races will be partnered by new recruit Nathan Morcom (21) who becomes the first driver from Australia to contest the ADAC GT Masters. Morcom is new to GT racing, having come through the ranks in the Australian Formula 3 Championship. Farnbacher and Morcom will be sharing the 500bhp Porsche 911 on only five of the eight race weekends, as the former has prior commitments in the USA on the other three; his replacement will be named at a later date.

“We are very much looking forward to racing in the ADAC GT Masters again,” says Farnbacher Racing Team Manager Dominik Farnbacher. “This year, we are entering two Porsches, both with top-class driver pairings, and we firmly intend to have a say in the destination of the title. I am delighted that we have managed to sign four professional drivers, and I am convinced that Sebastian, Philipp, Nathan and Mario are strong contenders for the championship. We have two brand new and optimally prepared Porsches, and we are ready to take on the sports car elite of the ADAC GT Masters.”
