2015 ADAC GT Masters calendar includes five Grand Prix circuits

  • Prestigious venues to host ADAC GT Masters in 2015 season
  • Super Sports Car League will be contested on five current or former F1 circuits
  • Eight race weekends in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium
  • All 16 races to be shown live and in full on new TV partner channel SPORT1

Munich: Races on five classic Formula 1 circuits are among the highlights of the calendar for the ADAC GT Masters in 2015. Next year, the Super Sports Car League returns with its usual complement of 16 races contested over eight weekends in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition to the Formula 1 circuits of Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, the Nürburgring and the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the ADAC GT Masters will also be calling in at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and at Zandvoort, the former home of the Dutch Grand Prix. The other three race weekends will be hosted by the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, by the Lausitzring and by the Sachsenring, home of the German Motorcycle Grand Prix. All 16 races will be broadcast live and in their entirety by SPORT1, the new ADAC GT Masters TV partner for 2015.

As is customary, the new season of the ADAC GT Masters commences on the weekend of 24th 26th April at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben near Magdeburg. This is then followed by the first two of three excursions beyond German borders. On the weekend of 5th 7th June, the teams move on to the Red Bull Ring in the mountainous Austrian province of Styria. Two weeks later (19th - 21st June), the ADAC GT Masters will be contested for the second time in its history on the ‘Ardennes Rollercoaster’ at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The first half of the season comes to an end at the Lausitzring (3rd - 5th July).

The Super Sports Car League resumes after its summer break at the Nürburgring on the weekend of 14th 16th August; by this stage, the main title contenders should have emerged. The tension will continue to mount at the Sachsenring (28th - 30th August). The penultimate fixture of the season (18th - 20th September) will be held at Circuit Park Zandvoort in the Netherlands. For the fifth year in succession, the grand finale takes place at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg (2nd - 4th October).

ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk: “The 2015 ADAC GT Masters calendar features the most attractive venues in Germany and neighbouring countries. By bringing together such a varied mix of racetracks, we have created the essential conditions for a series of exciting races in the coming year.”

Lars Soutschka, ADAC Director Motorsport and Classic: “We are delighted to offer contestants and fans alike a race calendar that features such high-calibre venues where competing is as enjoyable for the drivers as the overall experience is for the fans. Our calendar for next year includes five classic Grand Prix circuits, which is a first for us. Together with the season highlight at the Sachsenring and the Oschersleben and Lausitzring weekends, both of which are an integral part of the ADAC GT Masters, we have once again put together an attractive calendar for everyone involved.”

All ADAC GT Masters races in the 2015 season will be broadcast live and in their entirety by the new ADAC GT Masters television partner, SPORT1. From 2015, the supercars contesting the ADAC GT Masters will exclusively race on tyres supplied by premium manufacturer Pirelli. The interest in the ADAC GT Masters 2015 has been lively: twelve teams have already signed up, entering a total of 21 cars, leaving only seven places still available on the grid.
