Live TV coverage and Pirelli new tyre partner for 2015 ADAC GT Masters

  • Premium tyre manufacturer Pirelli to become new exclusive tyre partner to ADAC GT Masters as from 2015
  • ADAC GT Masters live on TV again in 2015
  • Start of 2015 season in Oschersleben, finale in Hockenheim, return to Spa

Hockenheim. Live television, Pirelli to become new exclusive tyre partner and eight events with 16 races - these are the key features of the 2015 ADAC GT Masters. The Super Sports Car League is already making preliminary preparations for 2015 and will line up next year with a proven concept and everything worked out in fine detail. ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk and ADAC Director Motorsport and Classic Lars Soutschka gave an initial preview of the 2015 season during the ADAC GT Masters finale in Hockenheim.

The ADAC GT Masters will have a new tyre partner for the 2015 season. Premium tyre manufacturer Pirelli is the new and exclusive tyre partner to the Super Sports Car League. The Italian premium tyre manufacturer, who is also sole tyre supplier to Formula 1, won the contract in a transparent and non-discriminatory tender procedure. Pirelli will be the ADAC GT Masters' only tyre supplier up to and including 2017.

"We warmly welcome Pirelli as new exclusive tyre partner to the ADAC GT Masters and look forward to working together," said ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk. "We would also wish to thank Yokohama for their sterling service during the past three years."

The ADAC GT Masters will again have extensive TV coverage next year. Live pictures from the exciting races will also once again be broadcast on television in 2015. "We are in talks with several television stations. Where the ADAC GT Masters can be watched in 2015, will be decided in the coming weeks," said ADAC Director Motorsport and Classic Lars Soutschka. The ADAC GT Masters races have been shown live on TV since 2010.

As far as the race schedule itself is concerned, the ADAC GT Masters is going for continuity with eight events and 16 races. The season will start, as is traditional, in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 17th-19th April 2015. The finale will be held at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg from 2nd to 4th October, 2015. The Lausitzring, Nürburgring, the Sachsenring and the Red Bull Ring in Austria again form an integral part of next year's calendar. The ADAC GT Masters returns to the Formula 1 race track at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium from 19th to 21st June, 2015. The venue for another race outside of Germany as well as details regarding dates will be confirmed shortly.

The sporting regulations for 2015 remain largely unchanged, with only minor adjustments being made. In the forthcoming season, prize money of at least EUR150,000 will be awarded in the Gentlemen and team championships. Registration for the forthcoming season commences on 13th October 2014. Teams who make an early decision to contest the 2015 ADAC GT Masters and sign up by 21st November will, as in previous years, benefit from attractive terms and conditions.

ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk: "With our new tyre partner, the composition of the race calendar and the live TV coverage, we have already paved the way for a successful ADAC GT Masters season in 2015. Teams already participating and those contemplating entry can plan ahead with confidence."

Lars Soutschka: "We will be maintaining continuity within the ADAC GT Masters in the forthcoming season. Stability in the regulations, attractive incentives for teams registering early and a generous prize money pot will make the 2015 ADAC GT Masters worthwhile for teams and drivers alike."
