Paddock radar from the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring

Superb aerial pictures: For the first time, kabel eins is broadcasting live pictures of Super Sports Car League races from the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring. TV production partners Wige are using the Lausitzring races as a test bed for a new ultra-light helicopter that films the ADAC GT Masters races from up on high. The mini helicopter will also provide high-quality aerial images of the ADAC GT Masters races at the Slovakia Ring.

Motor racing juniors at the Lausitzring: Strength in depth - ADAC Motorsport's motto. 'Teenies' also got a chance to show off their prowess during the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring. ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg organised a kart slalom in the paddock that counts towards the club's championship.

Kärcher visit Lausitzring: CEO Markus Asch and general manager Christian May from Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG had a look behind the scenes of the Super Sports Car League at the Lausitzring and presented the trophies after Sunday's race. Leading manufacturer of jet-washing and cleaning equipment Kärcher and the ADAC GT Masters have been partners since last year.

Tonino/Herberth support Kindergarten: Munich-based Porsche team, Tonino powered by Herberth motorsport, stopped off in Chemnitz on the way to the Lausitzring. Team boss Alexander Weinhart presented Sonnenschein Kindergarten with a cheque for 3,000 euros. The Porsche team installed a photo booth in the ADAC GT Masters paddock at the Sachsenring and along with sponsor PRECOTE donated one euro for every photo. Weinhart: "In the end, it amounted to 3,000 euros, which we wanted to give to a local charity. We chose the Sonnenschein Kindergarten which was badly damaged in the floods last June.

Press event in Dresden: René Rast and Rahel Frey enjoyed a late-summer Thursday evening in Dresden. The two Audi drivers and team boss Christian Abt took part in a press event in the shadow of the Frauenkirche, answering journalists' questions about the Lausitzring races.

Warnecke steps on the gas: Ex-swimmer Mark Warnecke was also at the press event in Dresden and spoke about his motor racing comeback at the Lausitzring. After a seven-year break, the former world champion, who took part in various racing series during his swimming career, got back behind the steering wheel at the Lausitzring. Warnecke drove a BMW 320i in the DTC des DMSB - ADAC PROCAR.

Donations to Simonsen memorial fund: In an admirable fan initiative, money was collected for the family of Alan Simonsen, who tragically lost his life in the 24h of Le Mans; Simonsen also competed in the ADAC GT Masters. All the ADAC GT Masters teams and many drivers took part, providing fan memorabilia that was auctioned on eBay with all monies going to the Alan Simonsen memorial fund. More than 4,000 euros have been raised so far. Fans behind the initiative presented the first cheque for the memorial fund to Farnbacher Racing, for whom Simonsen competed in the ADAC GT Masters. The fund was set up initially by the Danish motor racing association, DASU, and its purpose is to support Simonsen's wife and daughter. ADAC GT Masters as area for study: A group of students from Berlin's technical university were invited to the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring by ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. The students, who are studying Technology and Management in Motor Racing, experienced first-hand the action behind the scenes at the ADAC GT Masters, including a visit to Callaway Competition, where they examined in detail the technology behind the Corvette Z06.R.
