New direction and talented young drivers: ADAC GT Masters all set for the season

  • Strong line-up: 32 drivers, nine teams and seven manufacturers make up the field
  • Youngsters battle to secure funding in the new “Road to DTM”
  • SPORT1 to broadcast the ADAC GT Masters live on free TV

Hockenheim. The 18th season of the ADAC GT Masters will kick off a promising new concept at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 26th to 28th April. Fans can look forward to great brand diversity and seven different cars. The established premium manufacturers, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche will be joined by two world-famous sports car brands, Aston Martin and Ferrari. This change of direction will provide an attractive platform for emerging young talents and ambitious gentlemen drivers. The focus will be on the Juniors: the best youngster with a Silver driver classification, under the age of 25 and from the Silver or Pro-Am Cup, will benefit from the new “Road to DTM” youth development programme. The prize is funding for the 2025 DTM season corresponding to the entry fee for the competition. SPORT1 will remain as the TV partner of the ADAC GT Masters and will broadcast all races live on free TV.

“The new profile of the ADAC GT Masters gives the series a boost and adds to its attractiveness. The ‘Road to DTM’ concept is proving very popular with all concerned. Around 30 drivers in the ADAC GT Masters are aiming to show what they are capable of in the “Road to DTM”. This shows that we are on the right path as we take the series in a new direction,” says ADAC Sport President Dr. Gerd Ennser.

A total of 16 driver pairings from nine different teams will be competing in the new ADAC GT Masters season, and guest drivers will make an appearance at individual events. The battle for funding in the “Road to DTM” will feature 27 talented youngsters, a large proportion of the 32 registered drivers. These include defending champions Salman Owega (Cologne/Haupt Racing Team) and Elias Seppänen (FIN/Landgraf Motorsport), both of whom are driving for different teams and will be joined by a new team-mate: David Schumacher (Salzburg/Haupt Racing Team) and Tom Kalender (Hamm/Sieg/Landgraf Motorsport).

The team from Walkenhorst Motorsport will celebrate their ADAC GT Masters debut, racing for the first time with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Two Swiss teams, Fach Auto Tech and Emil Frey Racing, are returning to the popular GT3 series. The team led by Alex Fach will be relying on the Porsche 911 GT3 R. One Ferrari 296 GT3 will be sporting the colours of the Emil Frey Racing team. The Paul Motorsport team from Dresden will be entering all championship races for the first time, with a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2. FK Performance from Bremen is stepping up to compete with two BMW M4 GT3s. The big names in the ADAC GT Masters also include the GRT Grasser Racing Team with two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2, the Liqui Moly Team Engstler with the Audi R8 LMS Evo2 and Joos Sportwagentechnik with a Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Fans will again be able to follow the ADAC GT Masters live on German free TV. The 2024 season of the race series will be shown on SPORT1. The TV broadcast is rounded off by comprehensive pre-race programming that includes interesting facts. It is also possible to watch the races on the SPORT1 livestream and at adac.de/motorsport. The races will also be broadcast on the @adacmotorsports YouTube channel.
