Back in the ADAC GT Masters – Seyffarth Motorsport makes guest start at finale

  • Team looks to the experienced Frédéric Vervisch and youngster Robin Rogalski
  • Plans afoot to start permanently in the ADAC GT Masters in 2023

Munich. One of the very first teams to line up on the ADAC GT Masters grid, Seyffarth Motorsport is set to return to the prestigious series with Audi at the final weekend of the season. When the search for the 2022 German GT Champion concludes from 21st to 23rd October at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, the team from Querfurt in Saxony-Anhalt will return to its roots with a guest appearance. The outing will give the team an indication of where they stand compared to the opposition, as Seyffarth Motorsport is looking to return to the ADAC GT Masters permanently next season. The Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II will be driven at the season finale by Robin Rogalski (22/PL) and Audi Sport customer racing driver Frédéric Vervisch (36/B). TV partner NITRO will broadcast the races in the fastest GT3 series in Germany live, from 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

Seyffarth Motorsport lined up with a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup when the championship was launched in 2007. The team switched to a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in 2012 and nowadays runs Audi racing cars – with great success. This year, the team finished runner-up in the overall and team standings in the GT3 class of the GTC Race, which forms part of the ADAC Racing Weekend. They also took victory in the SemiPro class of the GT3 Sprint Championship, courtesy of Robin Rogalski. The idea of starting in the ADAC GT Masters again gradually matured over the course of the season. Partners and sponsors were immediately won over, and drivers were soon found. “We are thrilled to be involved in the German GT Championship again. We know from the past just how strong the series is, and want to use this guest start to see where we stand and how competitive we are,” says team manager Tobias Seyffarth.

Robin Rogalski is also aware of how fiercely-competitive the German GT Championship is. The 22-year-old knows the platform from his outings in ADAC GT4 Germany in 2021: “This is my first start in the ADAC GT Masters and I am very much looking forward to it. I don’t know exactly what awaits me, only that the opposition is incredibly fast. I was 16 before I got into motor racing, so I don’t yet have as much experience as many others in the field. I will do my best and want to learn as much as possible from Frédéric. He started alongside Valentino Rossi and Nico Müller in the GT World Challenge Europe this season. It is very special for me to drive with him.”

Tobias Seyffarth adds: “In Frédéric we have an experienced driver on board, from whom Robin can learn a lot. The step up from the GTC Race is a very big opportunity for him. For us as a team, it is great to have them both involved. They can provide us with important feedback. The races in Hockenheim are a test for us, as we would like to start regularly in the ADAC GT Masters next season.”
