Paddock radar from the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring

Welcome back
The ADAC GT Masters drivers welcomed spectators back to the racetrack at the Red Bull Ring. Before both races, they thanked the crowd at the Austrian circuit with a poster bearing the words “Servus Fans”. The Flying Bulls, a fleet of planed belonging to Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz, also greeted the fans with an air show prior to both ADAC GT Masters races.

Sporting visit
Austrian bobsleigh athlete Benjamin Maier (27) visited round two of the German GT Championship as a guest of the “Club of Champions” of ADAC GT Masters partner herrenausstatter.de. The World Cup runner-up and Olympian gave the “Start your engines” signal for Saturday’s race.

Flying visit
Andreas Weißenbacher, Chairman and CEO of BWT, also took the opportunity to check out the German GT Championship in the Austrian Alps and paid the Red Bull Ring a visit. BWT is a partner of the ADAC GT Masters since the start of this season and launched the “Bottle-free zone” campaign in the paddock and Media Center for the racing series.

Sausage with Winkelhock
After Audi driver Markus Winkelhock (41/Zdiměřice, Car Collection Motorsport) collided with the Corvette C7 GT3-R of Marvin Kirchhöfer in the rain-dominated Sunday race at the opening round of the season, the former Formula 1 driver was racked with guilt. He came up with a special way of apologising at the Red Bull Ring: the Swabian invited the Callaway Competition team to a barbecue on Friday evening and supplied the team members with some delicious food.

New online show
The new online show “ADAC GT Masters Backstage, live from the eBay Motors garage” premieres today at 18:30 from the pit lane at the Red Bull Ring. The new format, presented by Patrick Simon, will offer never-before-seen insights behind the scenes of the German GT Championship. Junior outing
Max Hesse (19/Wernau), the 2019 ADAC TCR Germany champion and 2019 ADAC Junior Motorsport Athlete, and his fellow BMW Junior Team drivers Dan Harper (20/GB) and Neil Verhagen (20/USA) attended the race weekend at the Red Bull Ring, where they had their fingers crossed for Schubert Motorsport drivers Nick Yelloly (29/GB) and Jesse Krohn (30/FIN) in the ADAC GT Masters. Hesse also did a stint as co-commentator during Saturday’s ADAC TCR Germany race.
