Allied-Racing team set to enter the German GT Championship with Porsche in 2022

  • Team to run a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the ADAC GT Masters
  • First driver already confirmed for the ADAC GT Masters
  • Team to continue in ADAC GT4 Germany and the Porsche Carrera Cup

Munich. Another new addition to the German GT Championship: The Allied-Racing team is set to enter the ADAC GT Masters with a Porsche 911 GT3 R in 2022. Allied-Racing has primarily caught the eye in ADAC GT4 Germany to this point, with the team from Upper Bavaria winning both the Driver and Team titles in 2020. As well as the German GT Championship, Allied will also continue to run four Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 in ADAC GT4 Germany. The outfit’s continued involvement in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland sees Allied-Racing take full advantage of the diverse and attractive platform that is the ADAC GT Masters. In total, the team will run seven Porsche race cars across the three series.

“This season, we spent a year gaining experience in the GT World Series. That is now over, and we now want to try our hand in the ADAC GT Masters,” said team principal Jan Kasperlik (42/Huglfing). “We are looking forward to this new challenge and want to compete at the front of the field in our first year.”

Young driver Joel Sturm (20) has been confirmed as the first driver for the German GT Championship. The young man from Brühl has been supported by Allied-Racing since 2020, since when he has won races in ADAC GT4 Germany and the GT4 European Series with the team. Sturm also made his first appearance in the team’s GT3 Porsche in 2021. “In my opinion, Joel was probably the fastest GT4 driver in Europe this year,” said an impressed Kasperlik. “As such, he is now moving up to the ADAC GT Masters, which is the ideal racing series for him, as a young German driver, and his partners. We want to challenge for the Pirelli Junior title with Joel.”

Sturm is looking forward to the new challenge: “This is the next step in my career. I am already excited and looking forward to it. I have already driven the 911 GT3 R – the car has far more downforce, better brakes and, of course, more power than the GT4 Cayman. We have ambitious goals and want to be in the top five, at least. Thanks to ADAC GT4 Germany, I am very well prepared: I already know all the circuits and the tough racing was very good training for the ADAC GT Masters.”

Team continues to line up in ADAC GT4 Germany
As well as the German GT Championship, the Allied-Racing team will again start in ADAC GT4 Germany – a series, in which the team has been one of the most successful in recent years. Kasperlik and Nicolaj Møller Madsen (28/DK) won the Driver title in 2020, while Allied-Racing won the Team competition in the same year. Last season, the team won the Trophy class with Tom Kieffer (46) and Christian Kosch (44). The two Luxembourgers will line up for the Allied-Racing team again this season, when they will drive one of the four new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport run by the team. 16-year-old Vincent Andronaco from Hamburg has been confirmed as the third driver for ADAC GT4 Germany. The former ADAC Kart Masters champion is a member of the Allied Racing Junior Academy and spent this year preparing for the step up to GT4.

With the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, the south Germans are involved in a third racing series on the ADAC GT Masters platform. Denmark’s Bastian Buus (18) has been confirmed as the first driver for the two Cup 911s.
