- CarCollection Motorsport debut in ADAC GT Masters
- ROWE Racing return for home fixture at Nürburgring
- Four Mercedes gullwings join line-up in the Eifel
Munich. Premiere and comeback for two Mercedes-Benz teams in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring (August 14th-16th). CarCollection Motorsport will debut with a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in the Super Sports Cars League line-up, as the second half of the season gets under way. ROWE Racing will make a guest appearance and will also field a gullwing Mercedes. The team raced in the ADAC GT Masters last year. Former DTM driver Renger van der Zande (29, NL) will take the wheel for CarCollection in the Eifel along with Alexander Mattschull (43, GER). Stef Dusseldorp (25, NL) will make his ADAC GT Masters debut with team-mate Nico Bastian (25, GER) in the SLS AMG fielded by ROWE Racing
CarCollection will face the competition in the ADAC GT Masters for the first time at the Nürburgring. With van der Zande, the team led by Peter Schmidt are relying on the services of a driver who shone last year at the Nürburgring on his only ADAC GT Masters outing to date by achieving a podium together with current DTM driver Maximilian Götz. The Dutchman will be battling for a place in the Gentlemen class with team-mate Mattschull. "We're planning to increase our involvement in GT3 racing in the years to come and regard our start in the ADAC GT Masters as a test race in order to gain experience for the future," said CarCollection Motorsport team manager Denis Ferlemann about the guest start.
The two races in the Eifel are a home fixture for ROWE Racing from Worms. Dusseldorp will make his debut in the Super Sports Car League alongside Bastian, who was a member of the ADAC GT Masters driver line-up last season with the Mercedes-Benz team. We have some very fond memories of last year's ADAC GT Masters, especially of our 'home race' at the Nürburgring which we were keen not to miss this year either," said Hans-Peter Naundorf, Team Principal at ROWE Racing. "Also, we still have a little unfinished business in the ADAC GT Masters. We didn't achieve a single podium in the series in 2014, so it would be great if, as late arrivals on the scene, we could change all that next weekend."
Four teams in all will be racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGs in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring. CarCollection and ROWE Racing will be joined in the line-up by championship leaders, Team Zakspeed, and HP Racing.
