- RWT Racing set to contest first full ADAC GT Masters season in 2014
- Corvette outfit target Gentlemen title for team boss Gerd Beisel
- Driver line-up of Gerd Beisel and Sven Barth confirmed
RWT Racing Team will be entering their Corvette for a first full season in the ADAC GT Masters. After making three guest appearances in 2013, the team led by Gerd Beisel now intend to contest every single race in the 2014 Super Sports Car League. "After those three test outings, we decided that we should do things properly next year and compete in all the races," said Gerd Beisel, who is not only the team manager but also one half of the RWT driver pairing. "Negotiations with our sponsors are close to completion, and we will now be serious contenders in the ADAC GT Masters."
Beisel shares the Corvette cockpit with Sven Barth and has his sights set on the title in the Gentlemen (formerly Amateurs) classification. Last season, the team from south of Frankfurt was an irregular attendee, contesting only the Sachsenring, Nürburgring and Hockenheimring weekends. In their ADAC GT Masters debut in Saxony, Beisel and Barth made an immediate impression by securing victory in the Gentlemen class. "The ADAC GT Masters is a lot of fun, and I think we have the right credentials to post some decent results with our Corvette," said Bart.
RWT Racing Team are currently working flat out to prepare for the 2014 season. Since early November, they have been collaborating with Callaway Competition to build the new Corvette in which Barth and Beisel will be mounting their forthcoming campaign. "I think we learned a lot in our three guest appearances in the ADAC GT Masters this year," added Beisel. "The level of professionalism in this series is extremely high. But that's precisely the sort of high-calibre challenge that we like to set ourselves."
The 2014 ADAC GT Masters season kicks off on the weekend of the 25th to 27th April in the etropolis Motorsport Arena, Oschersleben. All 16 races of the 2014 ADAC GT Masters will again be broadcast live throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland on kabel eins television.
