- 20 supercars already booked for 2014 ADAC GT Masters season
- Seven different makes already in line-up
- Ten teams register early
With only around five months to go before the start of the 2014 season, the ADAC GT Masters can already look forward to a strong line-up next year. Ten teams took advantage of the ADAC’s special concessions for advance registration for the 2014 season and a total of 20 super sports cars feature on the entry list to date. Seven different makes are represented so far in the 2014 Super Sports Cars League: Audi, BMW, Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. There are now eight fixed starting positions remaining to be filled by the closing date on March 17th; the eighth ADAC GT Masters season kicks off on the weekend of April 25th to 27th in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
Audi is the manufacturer that is best represented with six Audi R8s featuring among the 20 super sports cars already registered. Five Porsche 911s have also booked their places, plus four Corvettes and two BMW Z4s. For the present, one example of each of the following super sports cars has been entered: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Lamborghini Gallardo and Chevrolet Camaro.
“We are very pleased with the enormous interest that has already been expressed in the 2014 ADAC GT Masters,” said ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk. “Almost all the regular participants that registered for this year have taken the opportunity to secure their place for next season well before the closing date. Already at this early stage, we have a field of regulars and well-known newcomers that will make for an exciting season in the ADAC GT Masters next year.”
Lars Soutschka, Head of ADAC Motorsport: “We are delighted with the large number of vehicles that are already signed to line up in the 2014 ADAC GT Masters, which shows that our strategy is working: we have given teams the necessary degree of planning security by maintaining a stable regulatory framework, we secured a live TV broadcast deal with kabel eins at an early stage and we have further improved the 2014 race calendar.”
The ADAC has a maximum number of 28 grid slots available for the 2014 ADAC GT Masters season. Start positions are allocated on receipt of the entry form. The ADAC is keeping back a further six starting positions at most until the 17th March 2014 closing date for teams and makes that will give added kudos to the field. Registration for the 2014 season is only possible online via the ADAC website at http://www.adac.de/motorsport.
During 2014, all 16 ADAC GT Masters races will be broadcast live and in full throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland on kabel eins TV.
