Aston Martin returns to the ADAC GT Masters with Comtoyou

  • Comtoyou Racing to run an Aston Martin Vantage GT3
  • Talented youngsters Jamie Day and Baudouin Detout at the wheel of the Aston Martin
  • Comtoyou Racing targets long-term junior team with the “Road to DTM” in mind

Munich. New addition to the ADAC GT Masters: Belgian team Comtoyou Racing will run an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in the 2026 season. Sharing the driving duties at the wheel of the super sports car from cult British brand Aston Martin will be Jamie Day (20/GBR) and Baudouin Detout (25/FRA). Fans can look forward to seeing the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in action for the first time from 24th to 26th April, when the Red Bull Ring hosts the opening round of this season’s ADAC GT Masters. Tickets for the season opener in Austria, which features on the same bill as the DTM, start at € 49 and are available at dtm.com.

Comtoyou Racing has been competing in the DTM since 2025 and will now also line up in the ADAC GT Masters. The aim is to create a junior team, in keeping with the “Road to DTM” concept, in which young drivers will be given the opportunity to develop into all-round racing drivers and show they have what it takes to make it into the DTM. The same goes for young and talented mechanics and engineers, who can demonstrate their skills in the ADAC GT Masters and, in doing so, make their case for a place in a DTM team.

Jamie Day is no longer an ADAC GT Masters rookie. The Brit, who lives in Dubai, made a guest start at Spa-Francorchamps in 2024. He impressed in the same year as the winner of the Aston Martin Racing Academy. Day drove for Comtoyou Racing last season, gaining valuable experience and tasting success in various racing series.

Team-mate Baudouin Detout will be making his debut in the ADAC GT Masters in 2026. The Frenchman started his career in Motocross, before switching to national GT racing and ultimately the European GT scene. The two youngsters have already shared a cockpit in the past. “I am really looking forward to driving alongside Jamie Day, who I know well, in the ADAC GT Masters,” says Detout. “He is a talented and experienced driver, and I am confident that we will form a strong duo and do a good job of representing Comtoyou Racing and AMR in what is genuinely a talent factory for the DTM.”

In committing to the two talented youngsters, Comtoyou Racing team principal François Verbist is pursuing the strategy of offering young drivers with bags of potential a route into GT3 racing and preparing them for the step up to other racing series. This strategy has proven to be successful in the past, and Verbist is now hoping for similar success in the DTM environment: “In the ADAC GT Masters, Jamie will get to know many circuits that also feature on the DTM calendar, while Baudoin will adapt to the higher speed of the GT3 category, alongside a top-class team-mate as a reference point,” says the Comtoyou team principal. “We are preparing for the future by counting on the loyalty of our drivers and offering them the best possible opportunities to develop in an awesome team environment.”
