Scherer Sport PHX joins the ADAC GT Masters in 2025

Munich. The ADAC GT Masters grid welcomes another newcomer in 2025: Scherer Sport PHX will field an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 this season. The car will be driven by Nico Hantke (21 / Hürth) and Denis Bulatov (26 / Cologne). The duo will make their DTM debut at the opening round of the season, which takes place from 23rd to 25th May at the Dekra Lausitzring.

The Scherer Sport PHX team was formed in 2023 by Scherer and Phoenix Racing, who had been working closely together since 2016. Phoenix Racing was brought to life in 1999 by Ernst Moser and has raced on and off in the ADAC GT Masters since 2007. His son Ron Moser is in his first season as team principal in 2025. In total, the team has six race wins and two pole positions in the ADAC GT Masters to its name. Scherer Sport PHX, which won the ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring in 2024, is now set to write a new chapter in the ADAC’s GT3 series.

“A new challenge in an exciting championship, two ambitious young drivers, and Ron Moser as the new man in charge – we have realigned our team in a number of areas for 2025, and can hardly wait for the start of the season,” says Christian Scherer, CEO of the Scherer Gruppe and founder of Scherer Sport PHX. Ron Moser adds: “The ADAC GT Masters has developed into a training ground for talented youngsters. With our two Silver drivers, Denis Bulatov and Nico Hantke, we want to be competitive from the word go.”

Having started out in karting, Nico Hantke moved into ADAC GT4 Germany in 2021 and made six appearances on the podium before switching to the ADAC GT Masters in 2024. He is now set to contest his second season in the ADAC’s GT3 series in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 for Scherer Sport PHX. Of his new team-mate, he says: “We are good friends privately and are certain to form a good team in the cockpit too. I am looking forward to the season with Scherer Sport PHX.”

Denis Bulatov raced in the same team as Hantke in 2024, but in a different car. “We have a very similar driving style, which should help us when setting up the Audi R8 LMS. The ADAC GT Masters is aimed at privateers and offers young drivers targeted opportunities. It is a nice environment,” says the 26-year-old, confidently. He finished runner-up in ADAC GT4 Germany in 2023, winning two races and claiming two podiums and pole positions. He has also made it onto the ADAC GT Masters podium on two occasions.
