- ADAC GT Masters presents itself as a strong platform for talented youngsters and amateurs from 2024
- Three new classes ensure broad sporting spectrum
Munich. The course has been set for the ADAC GT Masters to enjoy a successful future. As of the 2024 season, the series will line up with a reworked concept. The new class structure provides a new sporting home for Bronze drivers in the Pro-Am Cup and the Am Cup. The series will be particularly attractive to youngsters making their way in motorsport: with the “Road to DTM”, the best young talent will receive a starting place in the 2025 DTM. Teams that register by 15th December benefit from particularly attractive conditions. The opening round of the ADAC GT Masters season will take place from 26th to 28th April on the high-profile DTM platform at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
Sporting format
From next season, the ADAC GT Masters starts with a revised class structure that will appeal to the competitors and is tailored to the needs of talented youngsters and amateurs. The Silver Cup is for Silver drivers starting alongside other drivers with a Silver classification. In the new Pro-Am Cup for ambitious amateurs, one Bronze driver lines up together with a Gold or Silver driver. The Am-Cup is reserved for pairs of Bronze drivers. Professional drivers with a Gold classification may continue to battle for overall victory in 2024, but must share the cockpit of a super sports car with a youngster or amateur driver. In the interest of sporting fairness, the different driver combinations will be brought in line by the length of time they must remain stationary during the driver changeover. This new concept will replace the previous system, which used additional weights.
New concept for young drivers
With the “Road to DTM”, the ADAC is establishing a new promotion concept for talented young drivers, which takes them from ADAC GT4 Germany through the ADAC GT Masters and into the DTM. The best young Silver driver from the Silver Cup or Pro-Am Cup within the ADAC GT Masters will receive a promotion to the 2025 DTM, in the form of the entry fee for their registration. As well as sporting success and lap times in qualifying and the races, the “Road to DTM” will also take into account such factors as sporting fairness and commitment to the series and fans. The overall winners of ADAC GT4 Germany receive a starting place in the ADAC GT Masters, in the form of the entry fee for the 2025 season.
Large prize purse and high-profile events
Teams can register online now for the 2024 ADAC GT Masters. Those entering by 15th December are guaranteed particularly attractive conditions by the ADAC. All competitors will be rewarded for their success with a share of the prize purse, which totals more than € 570,000 in cash and non-cash prizes. In each of the twelve races, prize money will be awarded to the top 15. In the Pro-Am Cup, Silver Cup and Am Cup, the most successful drivers will battle it out for tyres from exclusive supplier Pirelli.
The ADAC GT Masters will feature on the popular and high-profile DTM platform on four occasions in the new season. The third round of 2024 will also take place against an impressive backdrop, as part of the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. In total, the iconic GT series comprises six events, including race weekends at current and former Formula 1 circuits in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria.
