- Engel delighted to return to the German GT Championship
Munich. Great news ahead of the fourth event of the ADAC GT Masters season at the Nürburgring: Maro Engel (Monte Carlo) is returning to compete in the German GT Championship. The Mercedes-AMG Performance driver will be the new team-mate for Raffaele Marciello (27/I), driving the #48 “Mamba” for the Mann-Filter Team Landgraf. Engel will benefit from his extensive experience. The 36-year-old has already completed 50 races in the ADAC GT Masters, finishing the 2020 and 2021 seasons in third place.
The Munich native is delighted to return to the German GT Championship and his objective is clear: “I am really looking forward to supporting Raffaele and the team and I will do my best to give us the best possible chance of claiming the title. We have a great setup in terms of the team and driver line-up, with a clear aim: chalking up victories. I am also looking forward to the great Mann-Filter fanbase. That will be superb,” said Engels.
The team’s other car will also be appearing at the Nürburgring again in the yellow and green Mamba design. The two youngsters Frank Bird (22/GB) and Elias Seppänen (18/FIN) finished ninth in Sunday’s race in Zandvoort to score their first championship points and are looking to build on that good result.
All ADAC GT Masters races start at 13:00. International viewers can watch the qualifying and the races live on
