Munich. Champion power at Montaplast by Land-Motorsport: reigning ADAC GT Masters champion Ricardo Feller (21/CH) will line up in the German GT Championship for the team from Niederdreisbach again this season. Together with Jusuf Owega (19/Cologne), the Swiss forms the team’s third driver pairing and will share the cockpit of the new Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II (car number 29) with his young partner. With this announcement, Wolfgang and Christian Land’s team has taken another big step in its mission to defend the title. At the wheel of another Land-Motorsport Audi (#1) will be current ADAC GT Masters champion Christopher Mies (32/Düsseldorf), alongside Tim Zimmermann (25/Lochau). Lining up in the third car will be e-champion Christopher Haase (34/Kulmbach) and Salman Owega (16/Cologne). Montaplast by Land-Motorsport announced the third driver pairing exclusively on the online talk show “PS on Air – The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk”. The new ADAC GT Masters season gets underway from 22nd to 24th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. TV station NITRO will broadcast all the races live, from 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
Ricardo Feller will this year contest his third season in the ADAC GT Masters with Land-Motorsport. Despite his young age, the 21-year-old can already look back on a successful career in GT racing. His impressive performances have seen him called into the squad of Audi works drivers in 2022. “The fact that I now have a contract with Audi does not change my work a great deal. I come to the racetrack, do my best, and leave again. In contrast, my role in the team is a new one. Up until now, I have always been the young driver in the car, with an experienced partner at my side. Now I am the one who assisting a young driver and helping him improve,” said the Swiss, who also won the Pirelli Junior competition in the 2021 ADAC GT Masters.
Jusuf Owega can learn a lot from his successful team-mate, but has already gained valuable experience in the German GT Championship. The 19-year-old from Cologne made four appearances on the Junior podium last season. “Last year, I battled my way onto the Junior podium. This season, I want to finish on the podium consistently and have a say in the title race. In Ricardo, I have a fast team-mate at my side, who knows exactly how to achieve this goal. I am looking forward to racing with him and learning from him,” said the Audi driver, summing up his ambitions.
Team manager Christian Land is looking forward to an exciting but busy season. “We have three cars on the grid in the ADAC GT Masters for the first time, and three strong duos who can support each other and also push each other to perform to their best. We are obviously thrilled that we can count on our two champions.”
Jusuf Owega will contest the race weekends at the Red Bull Ring and the Sachsenring alongside Dries Vanthoor (23/B), who was victorious with Land-Motorsport in the ADAC GT Masters in 2019. A class of schedules means Feller is unfortunately unable to take part in these events.
