- Double dose: ZVO extends its programme to two Mercedes-AMG GT3
- ZVO Racing with BWT is an official Mercedes-AMG Performance Team
- Daniel Juncadella and young driver Jan Marschalkowski to share the cockpit
Munich. Strong statement from ZVO Racing: The newcomer to the series will line up in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters as an official Mercedes-AMG Performance Team in the striking pink of BWT. The team from Mendig will run a second Mercedes-AMG GT3 in its debut season. The car will start under the team name Mercedes-AMG Team ZVO. Sharing the cockpit of the 550-hp GT3 car will be Mercedes-AMG Performance driver Daniel Juncadella (E/30) and Jan Marschalkowski (Inning/19). ZVO Racing is also represented by another impressive pair of drivers in former champion Jules Gounon (F/27) and Mercedes-AMG Junior Fabian Schiller (Bonn/24). The new ADAC GT Masters season kicks off from 22nd to 24th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. TV station NITRO will broadcast all the races live, from 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
Catalan Daniel Juncadella is one of the most familiar faces in German motorsport. After winning the European Formula 3 series in 2012, the Spaniard was promoted into the squad of Mercedes-AMG drivers. Juncadella also spent two years as a test and reserve driver in Formula 1 and Formula E. His wealth of experience makes the 30-year-old the ideal partner for Jan Marschalkowski. The young driver from Motorsport Team Germany finished runner-up in ADAC GT4 Germany in 2021 and is now set to make his debut in the ADAC GT Masters together with the team from Mendig in 2022.
Team principal Philipp Zakowski: “We are very proud to line up in the ADAC GT Masters with four top-class drivers and strong partners like BWT in our first year as an official Mercedes-AMG Performance Team. I am particularly pleased to have the opportunity to develop a young driver at the highest level, with Jan Marschalkowski. We want to challenge for victories in our first year in the ADAC GT Masters, and can hardly wait for the start of the season.”
Water technology company BWT is a partner of the ADAC GT Masters, and last season transformed the paddock into a bottle-free zone. In the first year of the partnership, roughly 100,000 single-use bottles were saved and the unnecessary transport of drinking water was reduced. The successful partnership will be continued and intensified in the coming season.
