- 30 cars already registered for the 2022 ADAC GT Masters
- Diversity guaranteed: Varied field, with six manufacturers
Munich. The International German GT Championship will again feature a strong field when the 2022 season gets underway. By mid-December, 18 teams had already taken the opportunity to secure a starting place for 30 super sports cars in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters. The field is both high quality and diverse, with cars from six manufacturers registered so far: Audi, BMW, Corvette, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Mercedes-AMG. More manufacturers could yet join the field between now and the season-opener at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 21st to 24th April 2022. Next year, every race can be seen on channels provided by RTL Deutschland, while free-to-air TV station NITRO will show the races live and in full from 12:30 on each Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for the seven events are available now at
adac.de/motorsport. Anyone quick enough to secure their tickets by 31st December will benefit from attractive offers.
ADAC Sport President Dr. Gerd Ennser: “The great demand for starting places is a strong commitment to the German GT Championship on the part of the participants. The 2021 ADAC GT Masters season was one of the strongest so far and thrilled us with an exciting title race that went right down to the wire, as well as an impressive media range. We will back this up next year with an equally strong field. Our innovative initiative to achieve greater sustainability and the introduction of an environmentally-friendly fuel has been well received by our competitors. We are once again looking forward to the strongest European GT teams and drivers in the 2022 German GT Championship.”
The ADAC GT Masters remains an attractive series for newcomers. As well as teams like ZVO Racing, with Phillipp Zakowski, former racing driver Jörg van Ommen and Mercedes-AMG on board, and newcomer Allied Racing (Porsche), more impressive new teams will present their programme in the coming weeks. 2022 will also see growth among the established teams, particularly the reigning champions at Montaplast by Land-Motorsport, who plan to run an extra super sports car. New cars are adding to the anticipation ahead of the 2022 season. BMW’s new M4 GT3 lines up in the ADAC GT Masters, alongside the latest evolutionary stage of the successful Audi R8, the LMS evo II.
