- Online team presentation during PS on Air - The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk Show
- Outfit has two ex-champions, Christopher Haase and Christopher Mies
- Young talents Max Hofer and Kim-Luis Schramm also in line-up
Munich: During PS on Air – The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk Show which goes out online as live stream, Land Motorsport from Germany’s Westerwald region presented their squad of two former champions paired with aspiring young drivers and spoke about their cars’ livery for the 2020 ADAC GT Masters. It’s going to be the job of 2007 champion Christopher Haase (32, GER) and his partner, Max Hofer (20, AUT), to build on the success of previous years in the outfit’s Audi R8 LMS along with 2016 champion, Christopher Mies, and series newcomer, Kim-Luis Schramm (22, GER) in the sister car.
“The current situation is quite challenging for everyone in motor racing,” said Team Manager, Christian Land. “Nobody knows when we’ll be able to return to the racetrack. Nevertheless, we must do all we can to be as well prepared as possible when the time comes, and we’ve certainly got a strong team of four to fight for the championship title again this season, that’s for sure!“
Land Motorsport have contested the ADAC GT Masters since 2016 and have enjoyed a great deal of success during these past four seasons; the team won the drivers’ and team championship in their first year and have regularly finished in the Top Four in subsequent years. The outfit also won the Pirelli Junior classification for young drivers in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
The two new driver pairings hope to continue this winning streak in 2020. Returning to the team for 2020, Christopher Haase, the ADAC GT Masters Champion from 2007, and Max Hofer, the 2019 winner of the Pirelli Junior classification will drive the number 28 Audi. “I’m delighted to be lining up again for Land Motorsport,” said Haase. “We were successful together in 2016 and 2017 in the ADAC GT Masters and in 2018 and 2019 in other series. We should be able to contend for the championship with our car, team and driver pairings, but as you well know, it’s practically impossible to make any forecasts in view of the tremendously competitive field.” His partner, Max Hofer, who finished fourth overall last year along with Christopher Mies, is also optimistic: “I reckon we’ll be in with a good chance again this year. Land Motorsport are a mega team, and Christopher Haase is very experienced. I know that there’s still a lot I can learn from him. We intend to challenge up front.”
2016 champion Christopher Mies will be behind the wheel of the sister car bearing #29 for the fifth year in a row. His new partner will be Kim-Luis Schramm, who is back in the ADAC GT Masters after taking part for one season. “It’s great to be racing with Land Motorsport again,” said Mies. “The team are now like a second family to me. Kim is going to be my new partner this year. I’ve worked successfully with many young drivers these past few years and am really looking forward to giving him my support this season. We’re all currently facing a most unusual situation. This is probably the longest winter break I’ve ever had! Unfortunately, it’s impossible to go racing at present, but I hope that things can start up again soon.” His partner Schramm, who secured a podium finish in the Super Sports Car League with another team in 2018, is also looking forward to the new season: “I always really wanted to line up again in the ADAC GT Masters, because this series just has to be the best for us German drivers with its strong media presence. Another bonus is that I already know all the circuits. I’ve got a brilliant driver to support me in Christopher Mies. He’s already had plenty of success in the ADAC GT Masters and there’s hardly anyone in motor racing who knows the Audi R8 LMS better than him. He will definitely help me progress. I want to do as well as possible in the Pirelli Junior classification and fight for top finishes in the overall standings as well.”
