- Half of starting slots for next year already allocated
- Six teams fielding 14 supercars already signed up
The ADAC GT Masters is once again experiencing a rush of entrants for the new season. Registration of contestants for 2013 began in late November, and after just three weeks, half of the starting slots have already been allocated. The six teams that have so far booked their places will be fielding Audi R8s, BMW Z4s, Corvette Z06s and Porsche 911s. The official close of registration is on 15th March 2013.
"We are delighted by the excellent response from teams at this early stage, which fills us with great confidence about the 2013 ADAC GT Masters season," says ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk. "We are optimistic that we will once again have a fantastic field of cars sporting a wide variety of badges to entertain the fans."
The ADAC is restricting next year's grid to a maximum of 28 starters. Slots are allocated upon registration. A further six places will be kept in reserve until the closing date of 15th March 2013 for teams and manufacturers that could complement the grid in the best possible way. The registration process for the coming season is being handled exclusively online via the ADAC website at www.adac.de/motorsport.
As usual, the 2013 ADAC GT Masters competition consists of sixteen races contested over eight weekends. The Super Sports Car League makes its debut next year at two new venues: the Formula 1 circuit at Spa-Francorchamps and the Slovakiaring in Slovakia. The curtain-raiser for the seventh season of the ADAC GT Masters is scheduled for the weekend of 26th - 28th April 2013 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
