24.11.2011 - ADAC GT Masters
Huge interest for ADAC GT Masters season 2012
Interest in the ADAC GT Masters remains at a high level for the 2012 season.
Competitors have now had the opportunity to register for a few days for the
upcoming season which starts on the weekend 13 to 15 April 2012 at the
Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Even at this early stage the ADAC can boast
enormous interest grid positions. 15 teams fielding a total of 28 cars have
already registered for the forthcoming season in the ‘league of super sports
cars’. In the process they benefit from the extremely attractive conditions
offered to ADAC teams registered before 30 November 2011.
Among the 28 GT racers, which fans can look forward to seeing 140 days
before the season opener in the Magdeburger Börde, are spectacular
newcomers. In 2012 the eagerly awaited McLaren MP4/12C celebrates its
race premiere in the ‘league of super sports cars’ along with the big block
Chevrolet Camaro US sports car legend. It is not only the new cars contesting
the ADAC GT Masters in 2012 that appear so inspirational but also the range
of brands that is unparalleled. In addition to the McLaren and Chevrolet other
super sports cars such as the Corvette Z06, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini
Gallardo, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Porsche 911 are registered. The
ADAC expects other brands to join and expects a grid with around ten
different manufacturers.
Interested teams still have the opportunity to benefit from the reduced
registration fee for the 2012 season before the 30 November 2011. However,
time is of the essence as only 36 of the 44 grid slots available are allocated for
the forthcoming season. The remaining eight slots are reserved for other
attractive newcomers and teams, which are currently working on their plans
for 2012, by the ADAC up to the close of registration on 1 March 2012.
Registration for the ADAC GT Masters is only possible online.
The ADAC GT Masters stages 16 races again in 2012 on seven ADAC
Masters Weekends and as support event for the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at
the Nürburgring. The eight events each consisting of two races are held on
permanent race tracks in Germany and at the Red Bull Ring in Austria and in
Zandvoort, Holland and are broadcast live on television again.
