Exclusive chronograph watches: For the first time, ADAC GT Masters partner Certina presented a special Super Sports Car League watch at the Lausitzring, the DS Podium Chronograph Lap Timer - Racing Edition. Certina President Adrian Bosshard handed over the first two watches to current ADAC GT Masters champions Connor De Phillippi (23, USA) and Christopher Mies (27, DEU, both Montaplast by Land Motorsport).
Congratulations: On Saturday, ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk and ADAC Managing Director Lars Soutschka congratulated BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt on the occasion of his 50th birthday and gave him a present.
Flying visit: Two racing legends, Klaus Ludwig and Leopold von Bayern, paid a flying visit to the Lausitzring Motorsport Festival. Ludwig also used to line up in the ADAC GT Masters during his successful career and won three races in 2008. His son Luca Ludwig (27, DEU, Mercedes-AMG Team ZAKSPEED) has contested the Super Sports Car League since 2009 and finished second in Saturday’s race. Red Bull Air Race pilot Matthias Dolderer was also at the Lausitzring.
On a double mission: ADAC GT Masters drivers Michael Ammermüller (31, DEU, KÜS Team75 Bernhard) and Christian Engelhart (30, DEU, GRT Grasser Racing Team) have got plenty to do this weekend. Ammermüller and Engelhart are also competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany at the Lausitzring Motorsport Festival – and with some success. In the first race, Engelhart finished second in front of Ammermüller and even won on Sunday. Kelvin van der Linde (20, ZA, Aust Motorsport), the 2014 ADAC GT Masters champion, is driving the Audi DTM race taxi at the Lausitzring.
Race milestones: Several ADAC GT Masters drivers are celebrating having reached special milestones at the Lausitzring this weekend. While on Saturday, Rahel Frey (31, CH, YACO Racing) had her 60th race in the Super Sports Car League, Sven Barth (36, DEU) and Markus Winkelhock (36, DEU, BWT Mücke Motorsport) notched up their 50th. Remo Lips (34, CH, MRS GT-Racing) and defending champion Christopher Mies (27, DEU, both Montaplast by Land Motorsport) both competed for the 90th time in the ADAC GT Masters.
